Backfiring or popping when engine starts

So I've noticed in the past week or more that when I start my car I can hear the backfire or pop a few times from the exhaust. I only hear it if I have my dorr open. The longer the car sits thoe more it does it.

Of course I took my car to the dealer and he says he couldn't replicate it, then I took it back the next day cause it happens everytime I start the car and the guy told me it's normal for the Speed 6 to do this.

I just wanna make sure I'm not going crazy before I go over there and rip his head off.

Does anyone elses car do this?

BTW my car is completely stock.

my car does it every once in awhile lol your lucky you dont have a srt4 you prob would be going crazy those thing pop and snap all day..plus we dont have resonators

these cars tend to run a little richer when you start them up from a cold start, its normal. just some fuel that isn't burning off in the cylinder.

sounds like a post maf leak, possibly boost, or exhaust. the final 02 is seeing more air under vacuum and informing the ecu that more fuel needs to be added. Do you have a wideband afr gauge. If so it should read 14.7 at idle once the engine warms up. If it is reading any higher then there is a leak.

No CEL's and no gauges installed. Of course the dealer didn't hear anything when they kept the car for a day and then started it up. I want to install a boost gauge this week cause it also feels like the car doesn't spool up as quick when I drive it for more than 15 miles or so. It starts out ok but then kinda runs flat after that.

my car does the same thing, tho i got a TBE on my ms6, Jordan from CP-E tells me that you'll have this, you shouldn't have to worry

its nothing to worry about. these cars like to throw a little fuel when idling or just light cruising with no throttle, like when you are coming to a stop sign. its more pronounced with exhaust or downpipe.

Ok, I guess that makes me feel better. Just having other issues and I thought they were related.

Try doing a tune up. How are the spark plugs? A skip in the ignition (mostly due to bad plug(s) can do this). maybe do the fuel filter too. If thats clogged up, it can be a real bottleneck.

Mine does this as well. More noticable when I removed the mufflers.

i have straight pipe all the way back , so when the car is cold and im slowing down in gear it sounds like a shotgun .. people start ducking thinking its a drive by lol

its running rich between shifts and obviously when you cold start at 2000rpm, mine sounds like throwing a big rock into water "plunk!"
