backfiring on speed 3

I recently put a speed daddy cat back exhaust on my ride. Now every so often the car will backfire while shifting. Sounds cool but I heard it can cause some damage. Is this a really big problem. And.if so any solution?

Mine has always done that occasionally when I get the car close to red line. It's just extra fuel that is making it's way into the exhaust and "exploding" because of the heat, I wouldn't think that it's going to cause any damage.

Is all you have done is that cat back?

sounds like he's got a hybrid bov/bpv... causing your car to run rich, thus the "extra fuel exploding in your exhaust".

Could be an issue with the BPV (adjust the spring pressure if possible), could be a fueling issue (LTFT/STFT), typically the cars run rich, and backfire on shift is unfortunately normal. It would help to know all your mods.
