Back window tinting??

As you can see in my sig, my side widows are tinted, but the back glass is not. (DIY job is very difficult on the back window.)

Anyway, how much is a fair amount to pay for just the back window tinting? Say 20%? What about the windshield strip too? (I was quoted $195 for all the windows and the strip at one point.)

I'm a female, and always feel as if I'm gonna get ripped a new one by any kind of car place. If I have some idea of a price in mind, I'll know whether they're just blatantly screwing me over or not.

Thanks in advance guys...

I pay $20 per window to get tinted. It is through my brothers friend so I may get a little bit of a deal but I honestly don't think I do.

I paid a total of $140. That didn't include my sunroof.

Oh and here is a pic of mine just for s**** and giggles... I personally don't like when they tint the front sides a different shade than the rest of the car so I got the same all the way around!

Yeah I like the same all around as well. I have 20% on the sides and am going to get 20% on the back. So far, I haven't caught crap from the police about my tint. **knocks on wood**

Sounds good! I think I have 25-30. Not to sure. LoL OoPs. Yea, cops usually leave me alone which suprised me seeing that my car is vivid yellow but I don't know...*also knocks on wood* LoL

i dont know about u guys but in the state of texas aslong as you have driverside and passenger side mirrors you can completly blackout you rear window and they wont hassle you. i use to have a window sticker that made it almost impossible to see in, but easy to see out of. unless it rained ..

When changing tint shades is done right, I think it looks pretty darn good?

Mine are:
Front Driver/pass Windows @ 38%
Back Roll down windows @25%
Triangular glass on back doors/rear sides and visor @20%
Rear glass is 38%.

In Ohio anything less than 50% on drivers/passenger doors and rear glass is illegal. I;d have the whole car done in 20% if I could get away with it.

Home-jobs tend to look very crappy - way obvious.

The best $229 i spent was the all around tint. All new/warrenty/quality.

Spend da' dough!

Actually, the sides are already done (the "home" job) and look good. The hatch glass just isn't done b/c it's so difficult to tint w/o experience.

Yes, you are correct, your car looks good and I would have never noticed it to be different shades! Cheers to you!

In PA, the Rear windows(I believe) can be tinted with Limo tint 5 times over and still be legal, it's all about the windshield and side driver/pass. window!

Has the tint on the rear glass caused any problems with the de-foggers. I've been told by a few people that it can cause problems.

Thats what I have always been told but so far, on 4 cars, the defrosters have never given me any problems. The 4 cars I have had tinted were: '86 Lincoln Mark VII, '93 Honda del Sol, '03 Protege5, '95 Honda del Sol.
