Hey guys
I currently have a set of Toyo Proxes T1r's on my MSP. I really like them but with all the autoxing i've been doing lately they are starting to wear out a little quicker than i wanted.
I bought them originally with the intention of buying something with good grip for autox but that would last more than 10k miles (they last more like 20).
In any case, since i am a poor college student i can't afford an extra set of rims and 4 azenis so i am considering just getting 2 and putting them on my stock rims (also keeping the toyos of course cause they still have over 50% tread).
For autox, i would put the two rims with azenis rt615s on the front (for really good grip) and the two rims with toyos would remain on the rear.
For the street i would simply switch them around because i figure the azenis would wear less in the back on the street.
Any imput here would be greatly appreciated.

There wouldn't be a problem except for the look of 2 different tires on the car but thats what i run : I run 2 rt-615's on the front and some knock off tires in the rear, which I have yet to replace since my orignal tires in the rear. BTW, Those rt-615's grip like nothing else , I pulled a 1.9 60 ft on the track with those puppies. Goodluck with your decision.

Different tires w/ different grip levels can throw off your car's balance on the track. You'd probably never get there on the street (I hope, for every1 else on the road's sake), but on the track w/ the stickies up front, you'll probably get bad snap oversteer. Granted, if you're on a budget and that's all you've got, that would def. be the best setup.

yeah, i really like the way the car is balanced right now, but i figured that with my budget it's the best way to go. I really don't think that a little more oversteer would hurt too bad on the autox course, as long as it's not too much snap oversteer. I think i'll run a little less pressure in the rear to help prevent this as well.

P.S. I DEFINITELY don't drive hard on the street......that's what autocrosses and other sanctioned events are for
