Axle Back Exhaust - HELP!

I currently have a Mazdaspeed axle back exhaust installed on my '03 Protege5. The drone at freeway speeds (70+ mph) is becoming really annoying to my wife. Can anyone recommend a more quiet axle back system that is still less restrictive than the stock system?

Thanks,

Before you spend more $$ on another exhaust, why dont you try to put a silencer in the one you've got...Measure the inside diameter, find a universal silencer close to the same size, drill a small hole in the underside of your tip for the bolt and voila..a much quieter muffler for a mere $15...just a thought.

?

Never seen an exhaust silencer for a car. Where could I find one? It sounds like it would be rather restrictive, but it would save money.

i hear the racing beat is really droney at highway speeds too.

greddy is really quiet. hks isnt too loud either.

i notice you sir, are in arlington. where abouts do you live

give it a few more months, after a few months the muffler will break in and the drone will be gone

I dynamatted the rear hatch area of my car when I put in my sub, and as a side-bonus, it really helped out with the drone from my exhaust.

What is a dynamat? Sounds like some sort of sound absorbtion material. Can you elaborate?

Thanks,
