AWR Mounts vs. Stock Mounts

get 20+" in extensions.... and be prepare to cut your hands up reaching down there... Like bevis said, there isnt much to explain. 3 bolts into the frame, and 1 through the mount.

when i swap my rear out again i will take more pictures.

I've already changed mine once, from stock to the stiff "manual" mounts from AWR. My softer ones, the automatic tranny ones, are being shipped now. They should arrive today or Monday. If they come today I'll install them Saturday when I'm putting my new rotors and brake pads on. I'll try to get some pics.

Not trying to sound like a mod but, do a search. I found two great theads that I printed out and used as a how to. One thread covered the front, the other the rear mount.

I just ordered mounts as well. M/T in front and A/T in the rear.

I also ordered the stiffer mount form the MSP (number 3 I believe).

I plan on doing all three mounts in one foul swoop. I'll be taking pictures and such for a story on it.

Not sure when I'll have everything together, but I'll let you guys know.

My AWR stuff should ship on Monday. The MSP parts I order on Thursday last week, so they should be here about that time this week.

Thanks for posting this info LINUX. The car was originally designed as a granny sedan to get the groceries. People have said that Mazda made the mounts loose because of the rough engine problem at low RPM. I have ordered a set, was going to use only the front for the longest time but when I went to check it out myself, I say the same thing. Weak.

Anyone who is still not convinced. Have someone else start your car in the morning and watch the engine rock around...Mounts are one of those first couple of mods that should be done to the 3rd gen Protege.

Later...Brian
