Ok folks, I had heard that the stock motor mounts were weak, but what I found that for power applications, they are freaking rediculous!:wtf: You will notice that the rubber in the stock rear mount is ripped up! (weakest) Pictures are worth a thousand words:
Comparison of rear mounts:

OK,i've seen enough!I'm getting the AWR motor mounts for my MSP pronto like!

Good luck putting the rear mount in. If I didn't have the engine out, I probably would not have attmepted it! Really hard to reach the bolts!

ya it took me and my buddies about 3 hours to get there rear mount in (of course we had to stop a few times for a smoke and beer, and to get lock tight) but ya set a day aside for the rear mount, and have a freind or two help. and lots of beer on the side.

I feel ya. Yesterday, I went ahead and installed that mount. Just have to tighten the nuts, and I'm done with the rear mount.

The stock mounts, they were put there for a couple of reasons:

1. Cost effectiveness

2. Dampening

3. So our motor won't move (too much  )

Aren't I the lucky one!My motor is already out!HA!:D I'll just have the dealer slap 'em in for me when they drop in the motor! SWWEEET!!:p

Yeah i'm sure the mounts in my ES are looking rough after having 43K on my car. When I had my RX-7, the stock mounts lasted about 50K, then I just replaced them with solid metal mounts and installed an engine torque brace.

but after i install the front mount, i notices rattle a lot in my car...

It is in my car for 4 day and still rattle very badly...

I may decide to sell it. nothing wrong with the mount...but...

i noticed the same thing, rattles under 1000rpms. i have heard that the rear one eliminate some ratlling.

i wonder if that rattling you're reffering to is the Clutch Kit problem

no, i had the mounts in b4 i had my clutch put in. i took them out when i went to the dealer to get the clutch installed. I havent experienced any chatter from my clutch so far. just the mount makes the car ratlle under 1000rpms. after that the car felt much better with the front mount in.

Any time you stiffen up an engine mount, stuff is going to rattle and vibrate. This is the trade off for a more firmly mounted engine.
