Ok so after being on Tirerack forever since Ive had a great experience ordering tires in the past from there. I decided to try this tire which is #1 on the "Ultra Performance All Season" category. Its a AA/A rated tire with a 360 treadwear. Also not bad at all for 98.00 a tire. The reviews are very impressive just reading from the type of cars that have written reviews. So now we will see how the MSP handles these tires:) Ill post my opinion when I get them mounted.

Wow, Avon does tires? I thought they just did women's skin care products...(dunno)

Seriously though, I keep seeing these threads where people are buying "the best tire for the cheapest price". I think you're not going to get the performance of the stock tires for $98 and a 360 treadwear. Granted, these stockers suck in the rain, are useless in the snow, have unbearable road noise and wear out quicker than s***. But damn, they grip good! I really think you get what you pay for.

Sorry for the rant...continue on.

I just had these Avons mounted about 2 weeks ago on my msp. They're much softer than the stock tires or the Pirrelli's Neros I had on there before them. They take a while to brake in. So far they roll a lot in the corners and feel like a boat if you do side to side movement. However, they are somewhat grippy once they settle and are nice and quite. Rain performance seems to be alright too. The key to them is the tire pressure. Try 34/32 f/r. The higher you go the less grip you have for some reason.

Alright guys so I got these mounted last Friday. And wow Custom you hit it right on the nose with your feedback.

The ride is nice and smooth and there is way less noise. I finally got a chance to haul ass around a parking lot and really work them. They actually respond very well. Braking is good as is cornering. Very good steering reponse although my rear feels slightly looser than before. I may need to play with psi numbers. I dont even have 50 miles on them so I will keep updating here. And I know there will probably be more peeps possibly buying these so that will be more opinions. Now the sidewall I didnt dislike or like, its ok. I love a rim protector and prefer the way the Potenza sidewall looked. This one is more tall while the stock tires are more round at the corners. But so far so good and Ill see how they are in the long run.

Do give us an update and shoot a pic from a 3/4 view so we can see how they look. Glad you like them.

Bump on this. Update on the Avons..?

I'm teetering between the Avons and the Pirelli Nero Pzeros..

what are you looking to get out of your new tires? I've had both and can share my experience.

Well, I'm still on the stock Dunlop SP5000's..about 35k on them. I have a set of MSP wheels waiting for some rubber so I can throw them on.

I'm on stock suspension right, but have yet to put on my H&R springs and Tokico Blues (non-adjust). 19 MM AWR bar waiting as well.

That said, I'm looking for some better handling. Something a little quieter would be nice (though I realize that my tires are worn down now and that's contributing to the current noise levels. They are worn even and I rotate them every 7500 miles or so -about every other oil change since new).

I don't autox or anything and I really don't groove too much on summer only wheels. I'll throw snows on the 16"s next winter.

I don't really feel the Toyo Proxes4 as everyone and their mother has them; I have some hesitation about the Avons being a little loose on the sidewalls...

I'd go with the Pirelli Nero Pzeros just because they have a stiffer/thinner sidewall even though they're rated at 45% sidewwall both. However, I find the Avons a little better in the wet. I had no traction at all in the wet with the Pirellis towards the end of their life. They became very loud as well. When new they were very quite, not as stiff as the stock Bridgestone Potenza's RE040s, but gripped a little better after they settled in a corner. Pirellis lasted me about 35k miles of a lot of highway driving and one session of autox. The Avons have a lot less grip around the corners than the Pirellis. My rear kicks out very easy with the Avons, which can be fun :) They do have better straight line grip than the Pirellis. They're also very quite and comfortable. It's very tough to make a choice these days with so many options available. I really don't like the Avons. Hopefully soon I can afford new rims/tires

Puke (puke)cheap tires! I can't go too cheap on the tires. Yeah, mine only last 10 months at a time but what a 10 months it is :)
Of course I drive 35,000 miles a year so they still get quite a few miles on them in 10 months. Get some F1 GS-D3's. (boobs2)

Some pics of the sidewall...

Smooth, quiet, and grippy. So far im really satisfied for the price. But its up to what you want. I wanted an all season, higher tread wear, and double AA traction tire. And this fit perfectly and is working excellent.
