Average MPG for City and Highway

I am in the process of getting an Mazadaspeed 3 GT and I want to know what the real world MPG people are getting in the city and on the highway. I am trying to make the decision very soon, so prompt responses would be greatly appreciated.

Lately I have lightened my foot alot so my mileage went from 18 mpg 50/50 highway city to 21mpg.

i drive about 60% city and 40% highway and am overall averaging about 22mpg. However i am only on my 3rd tank since buying the car.

I get about 22mpg for city+ hwy driving. The trip computer always adds about 3~4 mpg on top of that which is definitely wrong. -_-;;

I average around 23.9 on my weekly mileage. My drive to/from work totals 44 miles. It'a bout 2/3rds freeway and 1/3rd heavy traffic streets.

I've made a couple of road trips in the last week and withthe cruise set and doning 70/75 it's averaged just over 31, at least according to the computer.

my signature has a link with what I have been getting since new. Some tanks I babied it pretty much the whole time. Other tanks I wasn't as nice.

I actually have over 8000 on my car but didn't log anything while I was on vacation and don't log when I just top it off...which is somewhat often.

25 MPG in LA traffic (about 50/50 Hwy/Street) ... and no I dont drive it like an ole fart just dont bother stomping on it in 1st gear (its futile)

but its not a GT so there is less weight... besides Silver color has the best drag coefficient hence making it more fuel efficient (hence the fastest color)

I've put over 2000 miles on the MS3 in less than a month. My commute is 60/40 highway/city and my average mileage is between 24 and 25, but have averaged as much as 26.8 mpg. I just finished 100% highway trip to Dallas and averaged 27.5.

These are actual mileage figures, not what the DIS says the average is. The DIS is somewhat inconsistent in accuracy. Most of the time it is off by 2mpg, but can be off by as much as 4mpg.

i keep tabs of every fill up with an online fuel logbook and the best ive gotten was 25.78 and the worst was 20.85 with my first tank from the dealer. through 7 fillups im averaging 23.7 with around 75% highway driving.

I will be making a road trip to home from RIT this wednesday morning so I will get an average from that.

Does much better on highway - I was getting around 30 with daily commutes at 60mph all highway. Any city driving really cuts down the mpg, more so than in other cars I've owned. Now with 80% highway I'm down to about 25 mpg.
