Aux In for my iPod

Wow, very interested in the GROM unit. About the same price for a lot more capabilities. Anyone have that unit?

i ordered mines a couple of days ago, should be here tomorrow. this is the last mod to the car b/f its sold. i hope it works out for my gigabeat. ive gotten tired of using cd's all the time. everything will be for sale off the car soon:(

ordered mine yesterday, but havent heard from them about when it is being shipped. How long did it take you guys to get yours?

This'll save you some time

RE: the original post.

there's a solderless solution to this:

get a panel mount 3.5mm extension cable that plugs right into the auxmod. no splicing, no soldering, no BS.

They're a bit tough to find, but here's a link.

They come in 1 foot increments, so the install will clean up a bit, as well.

You can also just use the male male running it down to the strorage area under the ash tray. Then you have enough slack to hold the ipod where you can deal with it on pass side or driver side. I kept my cassette module face in place instead of the blank. I just preferred the cable be shoved into storage area when not in use. Just a preference thing tho, it's all good.

I've been jacked one too many times...an aftermarket head unit is eye candy. besides, I like how the stock HU blends in (amber led)

+ 2 on the eye candy. Much rather have kickass tunes at home. Thieves aren't after oem vehicle specific s*** much. No coin at the pawn shop, limited customer base to sell it too. +2 on it blending with rest of lighting too.

my sony can change the colors on the buttons, and the red matches my mp3's guages perfect... but i have like 20% tint so you cant see in too well

My car is garage monkey @ home & work. Only have eyebrow on windshield & weather tech vent gards & window shade for dash. I'm 48, need the better vision without tint @ this point so my stereo can't hide. lol

I wound up running the cable behind the console & put a jack in between the cup holders/shifter. That way I roll up the cable & hide it in the ashtray, iPod in the briefcase & no one the wiser....

Last time i checked red does not = amber....and tint? you think that will stop anybody from taking what they want?
