I've been autocrossing for a few years...though this past year I haven't be so active do to my previous car's health condition (consumed half quart of oil per day)...
Anyway, I love autocrossing!! I loved driving my Miata; hard to believe that she was a pretty competitive car on the track. I would hang with the big boys that drove Z06, STIs, Porsches, Mustangs, EVOs, etc...
Now that I own a MS3 and its FWD (never owned a FWD before), I don't know how I will do on the track...especially since this is such a huge car...OK, from my perspective since I've been driving a Miata for about 6 years.
Let's just say it will be a new learning experience...
Twisted99, the best way to improve your times will be "seat time"!!! Just attend as many events as you can. Also, try to get as many instructor runs as possible; try are the best source of information and experience to learn from. After you have been autocrossing for about a year and you feel comfortable with your skills and learning curve, attend a driving school like EVOLUTION.
That will hone in your novice skills to bump you to the next level...
Good luck and remember the most important thing is to have fun...as soon as you start getting competitive and stress out...its no longer fun...
