Auto UP windows

I love the auto down feature on the drivers side window.

I assume its just a (relatively) simple hold circuit using just relays.

How would I go about:

1) Putting an auto UP circuit on the drivers window (Exact copy of auto down in functionality)

2) Putting a single button that auto ups ALL windows

Rotus8... maybe you could post the circuit from the electrical manual?

I'm not trying to thread-jack here...

It would be very cool if using the remote to lock the doors would also roll up the windows!

I've always thought that an auto up feature would be way to dangerous.

Hands, someones head..

Potentially..

thats why I would still want full control over when it does it. I wouldn't want it to just automatically roll up the windows when I turn off the car..

The way to do it is to get this box: Directed DEI 530T Power Window Automation System

Do a search for 530T on eBayMotors and you will get several hits. This box will do auto up/down, one switch, etc for two windows. If you want to do all four, you need two boxes. If you really want to do this, I'll help you figure out the wires.

sweeet.. thanks..

I was kinda looking forward to making up my own hold circuit though... kinda like a learning project.

Hi,
Use caution because the manual says you shouldn't operate more then 3 windows at the same time - the fuse might blow.

Best

Hum.. good call.

I don't remember reading that in the manual.. but of course I was never looking for anything like that.

I do notice that the lights dim when you hold down two buttons at once.

than you might fry some wiring there. Fuses are there for a reason ;)
+20. Modern cars has wires as small as possible for the current rating to save weight. You would be surprised how heavy the wiring harness is. Wires are sized so the fuse burns first; a larger fuse and the wire will burn first. Won't be covered under warranty either.

driver's side auto up is standard in europe/japan.... the motor and regulator (and obviously the switch) is different in that it has a jam sensor which will stop the window from rolling up more and roll back down instead

yes, they usually incorporate some type of low amperage circuit breaker. As soon as something becomes stuck in the window the resistance in the motor will rise and the current draw will also rise. The circuit breaker will trip and stop the window from going up any higher.

So has anyone tried this yet? Also does anyone know how if there is an output on the Alarm brain to trigger them to go or down via Remote? I want to do this a my MSP!! Might be a little out there but where is the auto down feature on the side located? IF it possible could one get 3 more of them from the junk yard and that would do the trick?

Oh im so down! I've been looking for this forever and couldnt find it anywhere!!!!
I'll be putting in on the MSP tho.
does it have a listing with the module that explains what it's wires need to be spliced into?
and does it have any alarm system implications? i'm still factory alarm.

my friend has a viper alarm on his truck and he has an extra button on his remote that makes all his windows go down at the same time so for you guys that want it on a remote you might want to look into that.

The auto-down feature in the driver's side is integrated into the switch. It would be easier to use the DEI box than try go hack in stock circuits from a junker.

My friend's VW has auto-up, he says sometimes though the window will hit the top and go back down, it must have some sort of safety sensor.

anyone know of a way to get the necessary wiring diagrams of the lock and alarm system to do this? i dont really want to buy the shop manual and online search has yielded nothing...
