australian plans

:
2001 323 Astina SP20 (P5)
hey guys, well the aussie section has been a little slow lately, so i thought i'd post this thread and see if we can help each other reach their goals, and give some ideas...

so what are you immediate, short term, medium term and long term goals for you astina/protege?

i'll start (naturally)...

immediate - nothing currently in development, not working on my boot setup at present

short term - exhaust. cat/muffler/2 resonators on the way (should be with me this week), awr stainless steel header coming soon hopefully....all with hp coating.
- finish boot...it's a bit on the back burner at the moment...too hot to work on the car for any decent length of time
- get autoexe replica grill (on it's way) and paint it along with my coolant catch tank and headlight chrome bits.......see question below about painting

medium term - secret intake manifold modification
- unichip from critter

long term - maybe increase compression ratio (prob 10.4:1)

question about painting. i have an air compressor and all the stuff i need, but would it be easy/hard to paint the hatch of the car. i'd like to remove the badges at the back and paint where the holes were (i'll fill them naturally). was thinking of removing and filling the key hole in the boot too. what do you think???

so everyone, comment, suggest, say what your plans are. lets have a good discussion here about what we have planned!!!

Well, I'll put a pic up of yesterday's Big Brake installation tonight.

Looks "full sick, bro" and has massive stopping power, as it should with HSV twin-spot calipers and 326mm slotted rotors (yes, more than 315mm, Andrew....).
The downside is it cost a fair bit more than I had planned/was expecting.
Will get back to you all on that when I see what I can do about it. Not entirely happy Jan, given what had been proposed.....
A 16"-friendly 315mm set-up is "sorted". It needs 5mm spacers to make it fit in the stock rims, no biggie tho. A fair bit of work did go into it.

Next for me is the full active 3 way Morel front stage, extra amp etc with custom kick panels.

Then we are looking at the custom turbo setup, but that is a few months away......

In my wheels.
The reality for me is that I will use the Finnilec anyway rather than pull the spare out.....
They had these rotors there and said same price, less fuss in your rims coz of the spacer issue (hard to explain....)

Goals for me are to learn about my car, I would like to stick neons under it, and turbo it one day, just for the fun of playing with that stuff, but I'm in for learning first.
