[Here's the monthly sales report I've been doing, it just adds the historical monthly sales from 2007 to 2009]

North America Mazda released their August 2009 US sales data.

In August 2009 1,919 Mazda5s were sold, up 44.9% from August 2008. The money quote from Mazda is: "Additionally, the program has driven MAZDA5 availability down to its lowest level ever, as demand has outstripped supply in many areas of the country." The YTD sales a a little lower than August of last year ( 14,266 vs. 14,637 )

For comparision 14,619 Mazda3s were sold in August. Mazda sales overall were up 12.1% over the previous August

Here's the data I have gathered from 2007 to the present.

Like I said in another thread, when I was shopping for my Mazda5 in February there were probably 20 Mazda5's on this particular dealership's lot.

When a friend bought his Mazda5 a couple of weeks ago at the same dealership (using the Cash for Clunkers program) there was only one Mazda5 available, and that was available only because the financing for somebody else fell apart. And there were two other couples at the dealership wanting to look at the Mazda5 in the event that he didn't buy it.

I am suprised that only 1919 were sold, I guess the Cash for Clunkers program caught the supply chain off-guard.
