Attention to all admins

I would like you to seriously consider all of you to get together and to write a code of conduct. Once any rule is broken, lock the thread warn the person in the thread and also by e-mail. Second time around block them for a week, a month I dunno and if it is then broken again... ban them for good.

There is an issue that is pretty much ruling our flamewar section as we speak. We even have a vote on banning someone. This isn't a good thing for the club and all the outsiders that see this will not be impressed by it at all.

We have to remain civil and mature and once the rulz are broken we shoudl enforce them. Something has to be done. We should take this situation and learn something from it rather then simply locking threads and giving out warnings. It's time for some action. I know it sucks being an admin cause you look like the bad guys. Well this place needs some type of control and I think some rulz and guidlines would be in order to control a certain few.

I am just as guilty as the next to have put replies to a few subjects. or even voting in the other forum. I would seriously like to have an end to all this and a positive one at that. If someone else has any ideas on how to prevent or slow these personal attacks on other members please do make a suggestion.

We can all be friends but we do need some rulz to follow once and awhile.

Thanks

Jc

personally I think you have made an EXCELLENT suggestion....once the "code of conduct" is put together....it should be posted as a STICKY at the top of EVERY forum section as well.....AND all newbies should be required to read it. no exceptions......this has been done on some forums.....and it pretty effective...

if for no other reason....the offender has NO excuse if they break the rules.

i totally agree with jc, and sirnuke!. that is the kind of thing were the new members, and current members, read it once, memorize it. conduct deemed unappropriate shall not stand!

I agree, and it's on our list of things to do. If a moderator wants to take on this responsability, let antoine or me know please.

Yeah I had a feeling the time was here...so we can say, hey sweetcakes look at the rules...ya dig? lol...seriously though Ill look into it...and if anyone has suggestions...let me/enry know.

So it should go at the top of every forum? Thats a lot of stickies...good stuff guys.

Well Antoine....if you don't someone COULD claim that the ONE forum that doesn't have it and the one they posted something offensive in is the ONLY one they go into didn't have the warning/rules posted in THAT forum...so they THOUGHT they didn't apply.......just trying to play the devils advocate here.....but that is how I see it. I deal with these types of people EVERY day....and you really have to twist your point of veiw a lot of times to see how OTHERS can and will twist the rules to meet THEIR needs. regardless of the intent of the rule.

one idea (maybe a bad one)

Maybe you should just stickie it to the top of the main forum page as a forum in itself. Call the forum "Rules, Polls and other Stickies" and then only sticky in the forums only stuff that is undeniably gotta be in the individual forums.

We'll make it an announcement and leave it there for a few weeks. Then we'll move it to another page.
