i somewhat agree and disagree with that statement
while in college, i drove taxi for two different companies. i enjoyed it and made really good money on tips. but it was all cash, so i spent it instantaneously.

but, some of the other taxicab drivers were horrible. we actually had a driver for a little while who would always treat red lights like stop signs, he would stop, glance, and go.

Well, I guess they are not really assholes. They tend to be such stereotypically wild drivers that it is more laughable than anything (unless you are in the back seat).

I had a XJR tailgating me. Knowing it was a 90,000$ car, I tried my best to lock up my breaks, it sure did wake up the old **** tailgating me, he had to change lanes to avoid me.

big ass truck drivers like the big ext cab, long box, duleys, farmer package, towing package, they act like they are king of the road and they go ******* 20 under the limit, everyone is swerving around them, assholes, when you pass them they give you a dirty look, so i generally fly by them so fast they can't even see my plate

Cadillac ETC's. Since you can pick up 97-99 fairly cheap, I've noticed alot of younger "thugs" driving them. You know, pimpin in the Caddy or whatever. But I had one tailgating me the other day. I was doing 75 in a 55 and this bastard wasnt backing off. I locked em up. He swerved around me and damn near lost control of his car. After that, he ended up back behind me, driving alot safer.

yeah, ive been noticing the ETC's too. Didn't even think about it till you brought it up. Can't count the number of candy painted ETC's that try and look hard while driving...

All of the damage to the front of my car is due to 18 wheelers. I can't count the number of ******* cracks and busted windshields those fuckers cause. And the number of dents and missing paint on the front of my car from blown out tires. I treat truckers like royal ass now...

Yah, Beretta's were all good. I - esp. the Z-26(?) ones. That 3.1L hauled; I think you even were able to get them in a 5-speed.

Its not the truckers fault. Rocks and such off of the road, they have no control of. Plus, if you stay back from them, you wont get chips I have the upmost respect for rigs, my dad drives one. I ******* HATE to see people cutting them off, tailgating them etc. Get hit by one and you'll gain a whole new respect for these guys. I got hit by one in my mx-3. You'd think I'd hate them but, I'm not bitter, I was in his blind spot. Remember one thing baby, "if you got it, chances are a truck brought it to you" (kiss)

I can stay waaaay back and still get hit by rocks. The amount of burnout tires is totally unacceptable. My car has taken alot of damage from it. Whats worse is, the tire pops, then huge pieces of the tire bounce and are kicked up in the air by other cars runnning over them, then the s*** hits my hood. It's like truckers just don't give a s*** and let their tires explode all the time. Maybe it's just a Houston thing. I easily have at least $500 in damage from truckers. (eekdance)

If you've got a manual tranny... next time someone's on your ass just downshift and that will scare the crap outta them. I did that once to this guy who was huggin' it and he backed off right away. No brakelights = WTF!!! Be cautious w/it though - I've only done it in extreme cases.

Too many truckers these days drive like s*** though, not like the old days. Especially the dump trucks. They drive like they're in a corvette, cutting people off, squeezing into to small a gap between cars, etc. Maybe it's only the Chicago area, but here they stink. Could be all the illegal licensing.

i was behind this xj in hollywood during rush hour and it was weaving in and out like crazy. tailgating, too. i looked in her side mirror and all i saw were these huge-obviously-just-injected-lips. then i saw the license plate "AB (heart) MG" it was melanie griffith!!! she drives like s***!

Jeep Wrangler drivers. For some reason I've never come across a JW driver that wasn't a cocky SOB. Male or female, they all act like they're tough and better than you b/c they can drive anywhere. That and Bimmer drivers piss me off b/c they're always driving slow as s***!

Good point, local b**** for me are the 18-wheeler trash barges coming in from NJ and NY to the local landfills. They're usually running about 75-85mph where they can and weaving in & out of traffic. When they're empty, they pull back the tarps and let the remaining trash blow out all over the roads...really pisses me off. (State cops like to pull them over for "inspections" so there is always one setting along the Interstate)
