Assembling custom exhaust

My neighbor may be able to help me build a 3" exhaust. Any suggestions as to parts? I'm thinking 3" pipe from cat back to a magnaflow muffler, but am concerned about it being too loud. I'd like a deeper tone, but drive a ton and don't want to live with freeway drone or something too much louder than stock.

unless you're installing a 3" dp, you'll get nothing by doing this. You're better off with a resonator delete to get a nice sound. remove the 2 behind the cat, leaving the lil guy by the tip. sounds badass and it's way easier. but if you insist on a 3", go with a magnaflow located behind the cat, just before the bend by the rear suspension. use the largest one you can fit that is 3" in/out, and only use one. If this is going to be a crush bent exhaust, you are much better off with a resonator delete as crush bent exhaust is fail. I ran the resonator delete for a while, and it really didn't drone, sounded cool as hell outside of the car, and cost $60.00 to do. only build an exhaust if you're using mandrel bends.
