Are the USB-C ports powered constantly?

Hi, Thought for my first question is should be as stupid as I can get ...... but I was wanting to know if the USB-C ports inside the centre armrest of the CX-5 are always "powered on" even if the engine is not running and car locked? .....

I have a USB-C stick with a LED light showing active before engine is started where as the adjacent 12v socket with a USB plug which also has a LED light is not lit up like the USB-C LED is until I either use the accessories switch or turn the engine on .....

if I lock the car, is the USB-C sockets still getting power and lighting up that LED?
Cheers Len

That depends on the car. The manual will tell you how the car is wired and which ports are powered when ignition is off.

You can also physically test the ports with the car off

I agree with Chas, read the manual and to add, sometimes ports are delayed, so if you shut the car off it may still show powered for a bit of time. Also, that port could wake up when you unlock it or open the doors.
