Are the seats too low/uncomfortable?

The seats are ok, but lack good lumbar support. My back is killing me after my commute. My commute is 1.5 hours and my trips are usually 5-9 hours. I'm thinking about putting an air bladder from a mustang seat in my drivers seat to give some lumbar support. I'd like to get some nice aftermarkets, but they cost soo much. I was also considering RX-8 seats.

I've driven straight through to IL from Charleston before w/no complaints.

BTW, I'm 5'7" and have the seat cranked all the way up...perfect!

I"ve never had a problem with them. The only gripe I have is that there's no lateral support.

That, and the damn pattern...

i agree lateral support is lacking. can't wait til i have the money for a racing seat. at least in the p5 i don't have to put the seat all the way back like in my integra to fit. with that car i was able to drive w/ no probs w/ my knees. i got good at taking turns.

I second that! They shoulda put pseudo-suede on the bolsters so you don't slide all over. I have the leather seats and am glad it came with them -- I think the cloth pattern is ugly.

Overall, seat comfort is pretty good - I took a 3.5 hour trip to Pittsburgh this summer and I was fine once I settled in. Didn't need to adjust the seat once.

I'm really happy w/ my stock leather seats as far as comfort and looks are concerned. My only problem is that I have to push myself into the seat during auto-x races to prevent myself from slipping around.

Had the same problem. Then I bought a CG lock. Works great.

All I would want is bigger side bolsters. And if you dont like P5 seats, try sitting in a Saturn SC2. Those are bad seats!

I've taken many 12+ hour trips in the 5 and have had no problems. I also worked as a Pizza guy, sitting in the seat for 8 hours a day and have felt nothing but comfort. If you think the P5 seats are high, test drive a Matrix. now that 's a mini-van.

Semi O/T: Every time I squirm in my seat, the headrest pops up a notch or too (I prefer it down low). I think increased pressure on the back of the seat pushes it up...

Anybody know of a fix for this?

the matrix is just funky. driving postion and feel stinks. steering wheel reminded me of the 28ft box truck i drove....hand over hand baby.

i find the bottom of the seat to be too short and it lacks back support. i always feel like i'm not sitting straight. i'd switch them in a second, but i've got the side airbags and don't want to give those up.

How many people have over 55K on thier seats? Mine do, and I'm sitting in them for 4hrs a day. They are worn out. The leather is fine, looks brand new still. But the support foam has been compressed, and the lumbar support is gone.

I have to agree with the comments about the civic seats, they are rough. Though they still have plenty (if not too much) lumbar support-even at 130K . I think the best stock seats I've had were early 90's mustang GT seats. I fit perfect and they had great support.

i'm at about 52k and they're getting pretty worn. i'm a light guy so that probably slows the wear down slightly.

I'm 5'11 and 185. Not that big of a guy, not small either.

How bad is your indent on the armrest? Mine is pretty bad, my pedals are worn almost out the point of replacement, and the floormat has a hole in it!

He probably means the cover to the center console. My wife uses it as an armrest and gets in the way when I shift. (drive)

I noticed this the day I drove mine home from the dealer! I prefer it low too, as it obstructs the view over the shoulder when it is high up. I'm really tempted to buy new driver's seat, but until i have the money for it, I too would like to know of a fix for this.
