Are the seats comfortable? Plus, a bonus question - is now the time?

I have a 3.5 hour drive planned for today in my GT, I will try to report back later.

Edit: Nothing much to report after my 3.5 hour drive yesterday and 3.5 hour return trip today. Very good comfort, no soreness, no annoyances.

Are there different seats for the different trim levels (besides the fabric or leather differences)?
Coming from a Volvo S80, I really like the seats on my Touring model CX-5 which are made even more comfortable by the roomy cockpit.

Can someone answer the above question?

I find the CX-5 cloth seats to be exceptional and am wondering if drivers in different markets or with different trim levels are reporting on different seats?

Granted, firm seats are more sensitive to proper adjustment for long-drive comfort but I have found the CX-5 seats to be wonderful once adjusted to suit my body. I'm 6'-04" and 220 lbs. so I do not find many cars to have such good comfort. I know some competitive long-distance motorcycle riders. These guys will ride over 12,000 miles in only 10 days. Almost all of them use custom saddles from one of 5 or 6 custom saddle makers. One of the saddle makers told me he could make a top notch long-distance saddle out of a block of solid hardwood as long as he shaped it to the proper shape that distributed the pressure evenly across the riders bum.

Firm seats are good, but I've had 2 issues. First was easy to solve. My long legs got no thigh support even with the seat all the way back. I raised the seat front anchors, problem solved (though the plastic trim on the rails is easy to catch with a foot and break). The second comfort issue I haven't seen mentioned and may be because of my long (front-to-back) head. The headrest presses on my head constantly and I am unable to sit with my head fully upright, almost regardless of the recline position. A steep recline is a little better, but then I can't comfortably reach the fully-extended steering wheel. The headrests don't lend themselves to modification, so I haven't attempted a fix yet. Anyone else notice this?

That's interesting. I thought it was just me that found the front of the seat wouldn't raise as high as I wanted.

That is a fairly common one.

For some people it isn't a problem at all, for others it is. It must be fun designing seats to fit all the different shapes and sizes of people. They are that way for better whiplash protection. I too would like my seat back tilted more forward than where it is but then the headrest gets in the way.
I guess on higher end cars the headrests actually tilt forward in an impact, which would be nice, that way they are out of the way more the rest of the time.

Just found that on Mazda's Australia site they show the cars having that: http://www.mazda.com.au/technology/active-head-restraints.aspx?movideo_m=24091
doesn't look like we get that in the US though.
