AP or boost controller

Hey guys just wanted to know what you all thought was a better mod. I was reading about both, seems like they do about the same thing. Can anyone point out the big differences. Also there is a big difference in price. Also sorry I am discussing the cobb ap that will be coming out vs. the greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller. Thanks.

in short. The MS3's boost/fuel/everything/whatever systems are very complex that a simple boost controller won't really get the job done well. On older turbo cars they may work fine, but this car has tons of electronic gadgetry you need something more advanced to control all the parameters. I don't know exactly/specifically all the details but in simple terms this is how i understand it.

so is the xede management system the same thing as the cobb ap that will be coming out? Or is the ap the best mangement system for the ms3 ecu?

supposedly piggysbacks (CPE...xede I think too?) aren't the best way to go with these kind of computers either. They pretty much intercept and modify the signal before it gets to the ECU...so the computer can still compensate/override those changes to some degree. A reflash (Cobb AP) has/will have complete control over everything...so in general reflash is usually better than piggyback. I mean, it's not out yet so we'll have to see for sure. Personally I'm waiting for the AP because it's "safe and reliable gains"

Simple: Boost controller- extra boost without any air/fuel tuning
AP- extra boost with air/fuel tuning

With the AP you will maximize boost with air/fuel tuning which will result in more power/safer tune.

waiting as in will be out in 2 weeks or so they should be beata testing curently finishing up the maps makeing sure no glitches. just about everything else out is a pigyback there is a couple other replashes out but you have no controll after its done if you change mods you need to send ecu back out. so to me the AP makes more sence. and there is a big diffrence between the AB and a BC.

...but the AP wont have boost adjusting capabilities until the tuner software is out, correct? i'm just double checking.

the ap will up the boost settings per there maps but no manual controll of it you can indirectly change the boost settings by loading diffrent maps ie stock, stage1, stage 2, economy.

ok theres a post that I have been trying to find that is written by one of the guys from cobb talking about what each map entails, does anyone have that link.
