Can you test to see if the Album/Artist/Song information displays on the information screen over bluetooth now? I was hoping with the update to iOS 5 it woud work with my iPhone 4, but alas it does not.

Is the BT Audio in the 3 even suppose to display that kind of information? I use a Samsung Focus (WindowsPhone7) and it doesn't show anything in the Mazda, but with the recent Mango Update for WP7 I'm able to display information in my brothers 2012 Volvo S60's display. I believe the only way you can get information to display is if you have the iPod Kit.
It says in the owners manual that it displays the information over Bluetooth with AVRCP 1.3 devices. The 4S has Bluetooth 4.0 and I believe AVRCP 1.4 (as opposed to 1.2 on previous iPhones).
The iPhones do not transmit the data to show the artist info on your car's screen. It's been tested on 2010-2012 3s & speed3s by the guys over on M3R.
Some phones and laptops will display that info via BT, but not the iPhones. Not yet anyway.
Right, that's why I was specifically asking about the new 4S. It has bluetooth 4.0 as opposed to 2.1 + EDR with the previous generation iPhones. I was hoping the new bluetooth spec would enable the artist information to be transmitted.
Fwiw this does work on my 2010 CX 9 and Mz6s GT. I have A 4S and my wife has a 4 running iOS 5. Only bug is current track time is stuck at zero. Btw this only started working with iOS 5.
I know this is a late post but I have a 4S and song info is not displayed on my 2012 MS3, sure wish it was. I thought the last update might fix it but no luck.
I've only been able to get phone #'s from incoming calls to come up on the display screen (via bluetooth) no song info comes up while streaming or if my iOS 5.1 is directly connect through the crappy headphone jack that comes with the car. (wouldn't expect it would, you usually have to be connected by a USB input for that stuff.
