lol ok ,you are always complaining about your car beating you up on the roads of Pitt. So thats not entirely true. But you do like my car better, infact you are the reason I bought it. B.c you wanted one.

and I almost bought myself one too ;)
I think my struts are shot since the ride has gone down dramaticaly in the last month or so  It does have like 2 inches of suspension travel and it's always bottoming out on anything lol. I dunno anymore lol...both cars are painful to drive around here though

Yeah guys, this is a hard decision, lol. I guess what im tryin to say is, if the MSP can get up and go like a Spec V, ill be sold on the Mazdaspeed.
dude there is no way a spec-v compares like that....listen to me"they are slow...the most you can get with bolt-ons is what 180hp....theres no way a n/a spec v would compete with a msp with basic bolt-ons at 12psi.....no freakin way!!....or in some of these guys cases 10psi."

Secondly, owning Nissans in the past, they seem to loosen up and wear down quickly.

waa? Having owned several Nissans and having worked at an Infiniti dealership for a while i can guarantee thats not true.. I can't speak for the new Sentras and Altimas since i have no experience with them, but in general Nissans have been pretty high up there in quality compared to a lot of other manufacturers.

the newer nissans seem to be more cheaply made and fall apart easier then the old ones. I bought my 01 se b.c i knew how good the b13's were and figured a b15 would be good too. Wrong i had stupid crap going wrong from the get go. Not to mention I had to replace the tranny b.c of bearing fatigue on the input shaft, which made the seal break and that made the clutch go out b.c of fluid leaking into the bell housing. I would much rather buy an older Nissan than a new one anyday after what Ive been through.

Im not trying to thread jack or anything, but do any of you acutally feel the boost kicking in? like the way it does on a wrx. My car seriously feels like a normal NA car in acceleration. I bring this up because a lot of ppl seem to agree that the spec v and msp, stock for stock, are equal or a "driver's race." Just wondering because i doubt my msp can pull on a civic si (fawking hesistation).

there is almost no turbo lag in our cars, thats why it feels like a NA car but i'd rather have that , then having to wait for a second or so after you floor it for turbo to kick in.

yah at stock its pretty linear.

After reading all of this and feeling undecisive still, the tie breaker would have to be the coolnes factor. Buy a MSP and you will literally drive around for weeks to months at a time without ever seeing another one, unless you have the spare time to go to all of your local msp meets. I've never driven or been with arms reach of a spec-v, so I won't say a speed is better. Have you gotten an opinion from a nissan board yet? The opinions may be mirrored but you never now.

well my friend has a spec v and they are peppy little cars, but he he would alway take off quicker than me but I always won. he had to get a CAI, cat-back exhaust, pulley, and headers just to beat my car stock.....

I've seen exactly 2 MSP's on the road other than mine ever. I see a lot more Spec V's.

Drive the Focus SVT if you're looking. The SVT is just a hair slower 0-60, but its easier to drive fast than either car. Less torque steer and it gives up very, very little in handling to the MSP, despite the lack of an LSD.

Also, the SVT doesn't have the noisy suspension issues of the MSP. It does have its own set of issues, but on the whole, I've been slightly happier with our SVT than our MSP. I love both cars, but I REALLY love the SVT.

I have not driven the SVT Focus, but I hear it does handle well. I had a ZX3 when they first came out and I lowered it with some better wheels/tires and it handled like it was on rails.

Yeah, just about what I've seen happen too between both cars. The shorter gearing in the Spec V will help it get off the line faster, but it also does it in as the speed gets higher.

The Spec V probably has the shortest 1st gear of any car I've driven. It's very hard not to hit the rev limiter in 1st. Then in third it seems like it hits a wall (gearing is probably too close together with 2nd gear) and then pulls nicely in fourth gear.

if its performace your lookin for, let me say this..they're a joke to me, i used to think they were quick WHEN i was stock, now its like they dont exsist...msp is what would want between the two if performance is what your lookin for. spec v's are not in our category(at least some of ours, lol)
(evil)

LOL, DiscreetSpeed that's harsh man, but so true. BLU BY U runs circles around them now running only 10 psi. In your case I bet you don't even waste your gas on them anymore, lol

It does get kinda boring now since I have no one to play with here in Austin anymore cept WRXs and trying to beat S2000s. Still haven't done the S2000, though. Maybe when the FMIC gets ordered..

I drove a Spec-v... NISSAN SUX . Its a piece of crap. slow clutch feels like crap handling is to crappy, jee you think it might be crap. It is. It is so sluggish too. you just feel the engine going "ithink i can i think i can. the MSP pulls in comparison!

I hate NISSAN!!!!!!!!
