A few years back everyone started selling so called electric turbochargers, which are no more than boat cabin vent fans. Which add no performance what so ever. I had an idea, what if some took an actual turbo, removed the back half, and added a long shaft eletric motor to it. Then put the turbine on it, and boom a real eletric turbo. Well, my dumbass never did it, but have always bragged that it would be cool. Well, several years later someone took my idea and made it. You can buy a Garret T3 with a eletric motor, that makes 3-4 psi using one battery, and 6-7 using a two battery (24 volt) system. Not very many people even know they exsist, but I occiasionally search for electric turbo's to see if anyone has a good set-up, and now they do. If I get enough attention I will give up the source to buy them. The price will amaze you. It's definetly on my christmas list. LMAO

thomas knight has been selling a electric set up for years that actually works. but it cost as much as a real turbo set up.

the best question to ask about a turbo is how much cfm does it move?

or whats the max psi for a 3" intake

Yes, there is/was the TKT kit which was an actual electric turbo kit. There was even someone that used it on their KL Probe. It requires multiple batteries with the electric turbo using three starter-sized motors in the eaton type blower, or a single starter sized motor for the centrifugal style blower. I think 7psi of boost was achievable but it was only good for a small handfull of runs down the track before needing to have the batteries recharged. It's and interesting idea, just not really a very cost effective alternative to a real turbo or supercharger setup.

For that amount of money you can get a set of cams or a ssafc and gain just as much power...the msp has 40 hp more than a regular fsde and it had 6 psi with 3 psi it'd be around half if that

Pass......Just drive down steep inclines all the time. The car will feel much more powerful for free.
