Anyone use USA CX-5 "service due" indicator on dash in km despite label?

I recently bought a 2024 Carbon Turbo (I'm in the US) and changed the oil at 1,500 miles.

When I bought the car, it showed 12,000 on the dash for "service due". When I changed the oil at 1,500 miles it showed 10,000 for service due on the dash.

From my understanding the factory setting is to change the oil every 7,500 miles. This translates to roughly 12,000 km which is maybe why it showed 12,000 on the dash when buying the car.

After changing the oil, I reset the interval in the infotainment center to 5,000 miles. I then looked at the dash and it showed service due in 8,000. 5,000 miles is roughly 8,000 km.

Is the "service due" on the dash measured in kilometers while in the infotainment center it's measured in miles?

I can't find any info on this subject and want to make sure I'm not going looney. Thanks.

There's definitely something funky about it. Look at the service due per dash compared to the next service date that I set at 5k miles. I drove 6 miles and it was correctly accounted for in the infotainment center but on the dash it shows 10 miles. One km is what, .62 miles? From what I see the dash "service due" shows miles but is being calculated in km.

Can you (or someone else) do the same analysis and let me know and I'm not going crazy?

I am not sure why there are different numbers but by looking at your pictures the answer for your question is straight forward: miles. Every single number shown in your pictures has "mi" after. I have second gen infotainment and this looks like the third gen/10' screen infotainment and I am not familiar with it.

Speaking about the different numbers, I see that you have set the next oil change and the next service. I prefer to set just one, the next oil change and that's it. Now, your car has only 1584 miles on it so I assume you're still under the dealer warranty and you want to take advantage of it.

I should change the title of the thread to "does anyone's USA Mazda CX-5 "service due" indicator on the dash actually calculate distance in kilometers despite the mileage label" or something like that.

It's an odd problem. I'm going to call Mazda sometime this week. My guess is that some CX-5s were programmed incorrectly at the factory. Hopefully it's something that can be fixed easily.

If you take the bottom number, 4994 miles , and multiply it by 1.6 you get 7990.4 kilometres with the ratio 1 mile = 1.6 km. But the actual ratio is 1 mile = 1.60934 km. If you do the math now, you get 4994 miles = 8037.064 km. So, yeah, something is funky there.

Exactly. Something is off. Hopefully it's something that Mazda is aware of and I'm not a lone ranger in this inquiry.

I called Mazda USA this morning. They set me up with a 9:30am Saturday appt at the local dealer. We'll see what they say. My guess is they're going to need to speak with the engineering team to correct the issue (but hopefully not!). I'll update this thread with the outcome.

I set mine for 5,000 miles and 10/01 of each year. Last interval I made it to 3098 miles which is 4985 km so not helpful :D

My guess is there's a conversion glitch in the dash for "service due" at a ratio of 1.6 km (maybe the software rounds) per every mile. 5,000 miles x 1.6 = 8,000 km. Here are two pics from just now which give further evidence to the conversion rate glitch I just mentioned.

Wasnt there another menu with the automatic maintenance notification vs manual setting?
ie had to turn off i order to reflect the manual setting

Yes, the self specified service interval won't show up unless you select "manual". I forget where it's at in the infotainment center.

If I leave it at automatic, the dash will display 12,000. What is 7,500 miles x 1.6? 12,000.
