Anyone upgrade from a 2 to a 3 button key fob?

Anyone upgrade from a 2 button key to 3 button key on a Mazda CX-5 2018? I soldered a 3rd button on my key and enabled 3button on forscan but I get errors on the dash. The added button works as the key lights up when pressed.

Reason why I want to do this is because I want to install an aftermarket power tailgate.

2 buttons? I didn't know that these fobs came in a 2-button version.

My 2016.5 CX came with a 3-button fob and my 2016 MX came with a 4-button fob. Your 2018 fob only has 2 buttons? Odd.

You soldered a 3rd button onto the key? I'd love to see a pic of that.

Where and what exactly did you solder the electrical connections to and how did you determine where in the circuit the switch should go?

Just because the LED illuminates when your button is pressed doesn't mean that things are working as they should or as you think they should.

Spare key for my cx5 with added 3rd button on left on donor board on right where i stole the botton from, it was from my on mazda 6
