Anyone in Edmonton Area?

Were looking for someone that is interested I long term. Look at our website alamoturbochargers.com. Obviously with experience the wage will be up for discussion.

well i don't have much experience with turbos, and i do think it would be a significant pay cut compared to the dealership i'm at, but i would love to check out the shop... is it mostly work with industrial applications? i'm experienced with cars... lol

Hahaha, trying to snake it from me! Its all good, I got on with a foundation repair company and its a blast. Thanks for the offer though.

I'm with smoke, basically evenings but preferably weekends. Also, smoke, how's your MS3? Any updates?

Mazda wants to do an engine tear down now. I guess they should have listened to me before wasting my and their time.

Yes it's mostly gas compression. Some big diesel and the odd automotive. Like I said the starting wage is posted for entry level. As a journeyman you'd interview with both myself and the service manager and you'd be put to the test to see what your skill set includes. We have journeyman auto mechanics at our Calgary shop. Let me know what you think.

Geez you'll be out for months yet. Atleast you have the B.

I have a lot of practice waiting for Mazda.

If they don't warranty it, I guess I'll save up for a used motor. Some kid somewhere must have crashed an ms3 by now.

There was a rollover MS3 somewhere in Calgary or Edmonton a couple months back. The guy had it posted on kijiji. I'd check that out.

Hey, an Edmonton thread! I've been checking out mazda247 for a while as a guest and never noticed this. Does anyone here track their mazda? I was out at Stratotech on friday and there were a bunch of Miata's and a few mazdaspeed 3's. My usual track car has been in pieces for a few weeks for some repairs, so I pressed the daily driver RX-8 into service. I've heard that if you can show proof of 2 timed track events you can get parts at a deep discount through mazda, does anyone know if that program is available in Canada? Might be worth doing a few more events in the mazda for that parts discount, it was a lot of fun for a stock car.

I've never been to the track but I might have an idea who one of the MS3's were.

Was there a red one with black badges?

How much is it to run at stratotech? Might be worth it just for a parts discount..... and the ensuing addiction

www.p1hpde.com runs evening events every couple of weeks for $80, which is amazing value if you look at the cost to get track time in the rest of Canada or the US. Its a small track but very fun and the pavement is smooth as glass with facilities that rival anything in north america (seriously, I was shocked at how nice it is the first time I went). There are other groups that run events there as well. I pay $50 a pop for the PCA Autocrosses on the runways at CFB Namao, lots of fun, but a lot less time behind the wheel for almost as much money. Its definitely an addiction, its great to really test the limits of a car away from traffic.

So I just dropped my car off at the shop for accident repair.... due to time constraints I had to pick a place called E & I autobody..... anybody heard of them? Seems a little sketchy. Whatever though, I know how to get things done the way I want when it comes to dealing with businesses :). Bitchin rental car - I got a silver Cobalt. One of the downsides of being 20 is I can only find 1 place that will rent to me :( Any plans for another meet, maybe with a slightly larger turnout?

I haven't dealt with many auto body shops so I can't help you out there.

I wouldn't mind meeting up again as long as we stay for more than 5 minutes and have a few more people.

I'll try to be on time and know where we are going next time.

Haha! I stayed for 30. Just by myself fir the first 25. I'm down for whatever. Let's get it going.

Yeah we sorta failed there... 1 person on time lol. I get my car back probably Tuesday, so after that works for me.

As far as I know, we haven't met since the first time. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I've been an OT hound trying to pay for things and my car has been in the shop all freaking summer.

I am still down for meeting up with people though. Which side of Edmonton do you live on?
