Anyone here anything about MAZDASPEED6?

MSpeed68

OH NO.
Was at my dealer getting my wifes Tribute oil changed. Just hangin talking to my friend and salesman, he said there was a guy from Mazda North America there, and he said that there will be an 2006 Mazdaspeed6. At first I thought he was kidding, but he said 280 horse with 2.3 litre, turbo, AWD! And the dealer manager was standing right there! This might be old news, but I'm excited!!(bowdown)

wouldnt call it more than a rumor I will beleive it when I see it as this has been said for well around a year now

yeah my sorces also say the same but things tend do change at the verry last minute...so don't be dissapointed.

You're probably right, but I can't call the manager a liar though, so we will just wait and see. My salesman sold the most speeds at my dealer, he sold 6 out of the 12 total they got, he went to a special trip for that, road course for a day with mazdaspeed miatas and others, but I watched the video and I saw a Mazdaspeed 3 in the background, he said it was! So never know about the 6!?

Photos of an 'MPS 6' have been out for some time.

The rumor of a 280HP AWD MS6 has also been talked about.

I'll believe it when I can test drive one from the dealer. ;)

Well the MPS6 concept has been around for some time now and it is 280hp with AWD but then there is also the mazdaspeed A-spec I dont know the stats on it

If it does come out I am gonna want one so badly. Can you imagine how much the insurance will cost on that thing though?!?! I bet the car will be an extra $5000 or so over the loaded V6 and then an extra $100 a month for insurance. (headshake

Pretty soon the whole Mazda line will have a Speed counterpart.

Basically, the MPS6 introduced at the '02 Paris autoshow will be the Mazdaspeed6. The Mazdaspeed6 has been confirmed for production for Europe (sometime in calendar year 2005). I suspect the Mazdaspeed6 will also be offered in the Japanese market (but that's really a guess of mine, no confirmation on that). As of now, the Mazdaspeed6 has NOT been approved for N. America, but they're studying it.

Currently in Japan, there is a Mazdaspeed6 a-spec (or something like that). These are just bodykits designed by Mazdaspeed that are accessory add-ons to the vehicle. In fact, there are these bodykits for the Demio (Mazda2), Axela (Mazda3), Atenza (Mazda6), and RX-8 .

In Japan, Mazdaspeed also offers some performance upgrades, the RX-8 upgrades being the most popular given the nature of that vehicle. But again, just think of these as dealer-installed accessories.

This is a very complicated relationship (and many things are different for each model), but this is the jist of the situation.

Ya, that'll automatically give you 280hp AWD, and the best handling AWD to set foot on these shores....

I seem to be the only one in my area with an Atenza badge, you can get those from Canada for $25. As for the Mazdaspeed emblem, I'll wait to win the lottery so I can actually afford Mazdaspeed stuff before I put an emblem on.

I'm the only one in my area with 2.3 badges on the doors and trunklid...
