Anyone have the black powder coated ETS top mount intercooler?

It doesn't add any spool time, and it's a great upgrade. If ya'll ever want to do a dyno day let me know some time in advance. I'de love to get off and come hang out with some more Speed3ers.

The throttle response is even sharper with the upgraded TMIC, because it's a lot more free flowing than the factory IC. Lag is really only introduced when lots of large diameter Intercooler piping is used.

You've just made my day :)

I'm also in SoCal. You should come out the monday meet in Artesia. PM me for more details if you're interested.

Please excuse the thread jack :D

Off Topic: Where is artesia ??? i'm from the San Fernando Valley, would love to come out some time.

+1...and lots of bends in the intercooler piping

bends don't play as much of a roll as the length of piping itself in my opinion. the charged air is already turbulent as it is, so smooth/mandrel bends don't play that much of a roll.

just because a TMIC is upgraded (large) doesn't mean it necessarily flows better. I haven't seen a flow chart of for the 3.25"/3.5" ETS yet. Would love to put those side by side with the stocker.

the ETS has the same surface area as the stock TMIC right ?

the more bends, the more the charged air is slowed down resulting in more turbo lag. It is proven.

The TMIC proves it flows better both because it is larger and it produces higher dyno #'s then the stock cooler. This is because it flows more air and has better cooling characteristics.

All ETS intercoolers are tested and flow 35psi efficiently:

there is a slight loss of pressure, but not a more considerable amount then that of extra piping. a better flowing IC can make of for that lost pressure however (not completely, but a substantial amount). Just because an IC is bigger then another doesn't mean it flows better. Who says the ETS flows better then the stock unit or even has better cooling characteristics? u still have not proven anything to me with a flow chart. (dunno)

that's not a flow chart, that telling me the difference in IC's. I already know the differences. I want to see the actual flow charting of the TMIC for the different speed vehicles (ie: ms3, ms6, cx7, etc...)

EDIT: all these claims of the ETS TMIC flowing better then the stocker just have me wondering. i have yet to see it go head to head with the stocker, and have yet to see any diagnostics. i would just like the people that state it flows better to have proof, not just, "because it feels faster..." or "because that is the manufacturers claim..."

atleast CPE backs all their product by charts/graphs/datalogging/etc...
