Last time I had checked EBC didn't have an 01-02 specific brake pad. They do however have pads for the Protege's with the 1.8L motors in them. If our brakes are the same as the 99-00 Protege's then I think we'd be able to use the pads too. I think the 01-02 Protege's have a slightly heavier curb weight though. If you call an EBC distributor, I'm sure they'll clear things up for you. I had EBC Greenstuff's on my 97 EK Coupe and those suckers are a bigtime increase from the factory EX Coupe brakes. The brakes on the MP3 are already great and have some serious initial bite. I can't imagine what they'd be like with EBC's since those are known to have more initial bite than the factory brakes. The only upgrade I can see myself wanting to do to my MP3 as far as brakes go is to use Goodridge Steel Braided Brake Lines and upgrade the brake fluid to Mutol 600. But, that's just my opinion.
Hey thanks for the reply and you read my mind i have seen people big brake kits on Civics and unless you have gone over 250hp and have broken speed records with you car. Normally your stock brakes will do the trick so long as you upgrade to steel braided lines and watch the boiling point on your fluid. I thought it would be nice not to have brake dust but if it has more bite than our brakes already do. I may reconsider I will still call and get a part number and post it for all those hardcore racers with the turbo's. This site is the best i enjoy reading this page. It seems that any question i ask (so long as it is not ridiculous) is answered. Hey thanks again have a good weekend.
i tried the EBC Greens on my RS. i was truely dissappoiinted. they made the car WORSE than stock. i agree with apexistud
get some lines and good fluid first. the brakes in this car seem really good for stock.
and unless you are overheating the pads i'd keep them in

I've heard Porterfiled are good pads. Grassroots motorsports seems to like the EBC pads they put on the BMW project car.
I don't think there is an EBC pad available for our specific application yet.
I just got some Hawk pads. I'll report on them after I brake them in and ge them out on the track.
