Just wondering if a alarm module is out yet, last time i checked with my dealer it was on a national backorder.
Anyone got theirs fixed yet?

BTW, the first time i took it to the dealer with a alarm parking lights issue, they saw it and told me to leave it for a day.
Next day they called me and said it wasn't doing it anymore, I went back and it wasn't. A month later and back to using the door locks and no alarm.
I wonder what they did to it?

hmmm I have never heard of this issue before.Do you have a TT
no, but it seems like some people have it and some dont, but more do then dont.
It's when you arm your alarm and the parking lights stay on until your battery dies, and to turn the parking lights off you have to start the car.
At first they will stay on for a few extra seconds, but after a while they won't come off.
Now i just don't use the alarm at all. Mazda says that it's a alarm module but the module is on a national backorder.

Wonderful...I've had this problem for nearly a month now & I was going to go to the dealer before I get to 12k miles. I heard that it was on backorder months ago, I can't believe they still don't have it.

i guess we can expect the backordered modules to become available the same time the msp service manuals become available, which will probably be never.

I had mine replaced a couple of months ago (I think), but it did take about 2.5 - 3 weeks before they called me that it was in.

I've been through 2 alarm modules and i never heard about any back order on the modules. I had the problem with the parking lights staying on and killing the battery. So took it in and the dealer changed the module. But then i had a problem that when i get in and turn the key everything turned off. no power whatsoever, to anything. so when i reached for the battery jumper in the trunk and walked around to the front, i realized that the power was back on. so after playing with the alarm locking and unlocking it would turn on. Only happened when it was cold and/or wet. Went back in to the dealer and they changed the module. the same night, the problem happens again. so to get the power back on i would have to keep opening the trunk and closing it to engage the alarm again. Sounds silly i know, but it worked. So after hasseling with the dealer and getting pretty upset at them, i call another local dealer and they say bring it in, we'll take a look at it. So that morning i'm stuck for a half an hour trying to turn the stupid car on. Everytime you turn the key, blank.... everything off. Out of frustration i go out and start looking around under the hood. and lo and behold the battery positive cable is just sitting on top of the terminal. Hmmm, i wonder how long thats been like that, my guess since the second time that they changed the module. Its been working fine ever since. Although I still keep my fingers crossed everytime i turn on the car.

i got mine replaced a couple of months ago. brought it in one time and the dealer could not duplicate the problem but as soon as i got home the lights stayed on so i brought it back and they changed the module right there. haven't had a problem since

ll it is is crappy wiring......module shorts out.

the way code alarm is set up, only the yellow parking lights (emergency blinkers, turn signals) have to blink when u arm or disarm. NOT the whole rear light......i mean the red part.

lights should blink:
once when armed
twice when disarmed
and only yellow should blink.

only few MSP's blink with yellow blinkers only.
my orange MSP blinked ONLY yellow,
my titanium blinks yellow and red.

wiring is bad. mazda used regular cheap crimp connectors to connect the lights to the alarm.

I think only 35% of the MSP members on the boards has had this problem with the alarm module (parking lights staying on), including me. If you search back about a year there is tons of threads on this problem (nervous).

I know, i've searched a while ago, and know what the problem is and how many people have it, i was just wondering if anyone got theirs fixed permanently yet.
I think i got the answer, now i just need to find time and go to the dealer. I wonder what they are going to say about my profec B being hooked up??
I won't even bother disconnecting it. I'm just waiting for them to say that the EBC is what's causing the problems. I can't wait..
Thanks for everyone else's feedback.

I had same problem, Wayne Mazda carries the part in stock and had it replaced a few days later took like 20 mins...

The alarm systems arn't exactly from mazda, they didnt come on the car from the factory. The alarm systems are put on at the ports. Yes, they defiently have there problems and yes, they are still on backorder. Just be glad you don't own a VW and have to wait 2-3 months for an ignition switch.

This alarm is really flakey. Mine occasionally stays armed AFTER I've used the key fob to unlock both sets of doors! Then when you open the door all hell breaks loose.
On other occasions mine has refused to arm or started sounding for no reason.
I haven't had the problem with the lights staying on. I'm kind of hoping these annoyances just go away since I can't reproduce the symptoms at will.

BTW, mine blinks both red and yellow tail lights when arming, probably because it is a 2003.5.

Oldzoomer- When you are driving your msp does the door ajar light come on? If so you may want to have your dealer check the door switch.....I've had a couple that have had bad grounds on the drivers front door.

nope.
Now that you mentioned bad grounds I'm kind of wondering if perhaps the alarm is properly connected. I'll check everything out under the dash.

The wiring isn't great to the parking lights, but it's not what's causing the problem. There were no shorts or grounds in the wiring on mine, but I had the parking lights staying on. The original alarm control module fails internally because it is crap, but the new one they replaced mine with FP #0000-8F-C10 is working great for going on 7 months.

i have not run into the same problems you all are describing here, but i do have a nasty problem with my alarm. every time it goes of, instead of having the normal sounding beep tone, it goes schizo and beeps randomly, different lengths of beeps, real fast sometimes, slow others, etc. ITS WEIRD. i need to take it to the dealer again....just a little fyi for everyone.....
