Anyone ever buy furniture from Target?

So I've been looking for a reasonably priced leather club chair for reading and listening to music in (on top of general chillin') - and most stuff I've seen is just out of budget ($600 for single chair) and/or not that comfy.

I saw this at Target the other day: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.htm...2?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000BZ1P6C

It felt pretty comfy and looked well built.

Has anyone had any sucess or feedback on buying furniture from Target? I still have to get rid of the feeling about dropping tons of cash for the same type/quality.

Thanks,
D

eh, doesn't recline. and to me it doesn't look too comfortable on the picture but if you liked it, just get it. i am sure it comes with warranty some sorts and use your credit card and they will double the warranty.

Yeah, I'm not looking for a recliner - I've always been used to club chairs and/or couches; I may just go to a La-Z-Boy Showroom for grins tomorrow or something....

It's looks like a decent chair for a couple years use. It probably won't hold up over the years and from the reviews it seems a little stiff, so probably a pretty low grade of leather is used. But hey what do you expect for the price. Over all if you just need something for a little while and don't plan on keeping it forever I'd say it's OK, not something I would buy but I spent 3 months looking for a club chair that I would keep pretty much for ever and I spent $1200 on it.(boom03)

Fair enough. I actually tried it in the store and it seemed fine. I'm going to check out some additional "higher quality" leather chairs as a comparision. It appeared to be well built. Solid wood, good stitching on the leather, solid, no flexing of the frame, etc. - I'm one of these people that furniture people freak out over because I"m getting on the floor, turning chairs and other items over to see how they were constructed. I spent 4 hours just comparing bedroom sets once; luckily, I had a really patient saleswoman :)...

Can I ask what kind of a club chair you got? What is your intention with it? I'm more about just reading and listening to music in it - probably something like 2-3 hours a day, 3-4 days a week. I'm not adverse to spending the money; but you also raised a good point. How long do I intend to keep the chair....hmmm...I guess I could drop the money and then eventually discount the chair to secondary or tertiary use after a few years....I'd be the only one using it for the time being, so it won't be seeing "abuse" either.

Other than media storage, I've only bought yard furniture from Target. It's held up quite well. The cushions are very weather-proof.

That looks like a pretty good price for that chair. Most other places would ask at least $599 for that chair. So long as you don't plan on having it the rest of you life it seems like a pretty good chair.

The one I finally ended up getting was from Thomasville (yes I know I paid for the name) part of the Humphry Bogart line they were promoting about 8 months ago. This is my primary chair at home, I use it for reading, watching TV and just sitting back and relaxing. I also am really picky about chairs as I sell high end theater seating and have a chance to try out a lot of different chairs but the wife didn't want a recliner so I couldn't get any thing at cost.(sad1)
