Anyone else hearing a groan

Is this only being heard in the MS3 or Mazda3 in general?

Based on the few who have heard this it looks like its either MS3 or 3.... I know the subi's are known for noisy differentials but given so few of us have heard it on the Mazda I would think its not normal...

Ill let you all know what the dealer says it is... its doing it often enough now that I should be able to take em for a ride and let them hear it

I just got my car today. And after I test drove with the salesman to the gas station(free gas) we return to the dealership. We rolled thru the parking lot at about 10 mph. A groaning type noise was heard from the rear. I didnt have my feet on any of the pedals. My salesman said thats not normal. If noise presist bring car in immediately

I had just put in about 200 miles when I heard this groan as I was rolling into a parking spot. I was in neutral already and hardly any pressure on the brakes either. The groan was loud enough to draw the attention of a few others in the parking lot. But at about 950 miles now, and haven't heard it again.

I heard it today.

Was getting off the freeway today after a short run. When I made the right turn from a stop at the exit I heard the groan. I also felt the vibration of the groan through the clutch pedal. I tried to get it to duplicate while I was driving through the parking lot, but it didn't make the noise again. I have about 1900 miles on mine and no other issues so far. I do however share the common dislike of the spongy engine mounts. My dealer told me that they are aware of the issue, but nothing is being done about it. They also said that if they find any aftermarket mounts on the vehicle, they will void the warranty on the whole front suspension.

What was the reason for the void. Better engine mount the less the suspension has to work??? I think their are just trying to scare you b/c my dealer just installe mine and said nothing of that sort. They even said they would install my turbo back...??? I would just be voiding the warranty on the parts that I have modded.

They told me that there was a Mazda rep out there a week prior. The rep was talking about the engine mount issue, the floor mats, the issue with the bolt that backs out of the mount due to no loc-tite. The service manager told me that they were aware people were going to after market mounts and the void was the instruction they were given.

I was hoping the service department at this Mazda delaer would be a little more laid back, but this particular manager seemed to be a bit by the book.

I would call Mazda USA and ask questions. It just doesn't make any sense why it would void the warranty for the front suspension. They are the idiots that created this problem in the first place and now we as customers are being penalized by providing our vehicles with better quality parts to cover their idiotic mistakes.

Here is a thought Mazda, why not try and manufacture a vehicle with atleast credible products to atleast hold the damn engine in place.

So dealer test drove the car and didnt hear the groan... Ill have to drive it with tech in hope of reproducing the groan while they are in car.... have a feeling Im not going to get this fixed till it completely breaks... whatever the groaning thing is
