Mazda Protege MP3, Mazdaspeed Protege
I had a TSI turbo kit on my car and im debating selling it. The kit is a G25BB with a cast manifold, the intake can be up in the engine compartment or down for cold air, it has a FMIC, and the wastegate has a 6lb spring, it also has a Turbo Specialties contoller which has a boost guage, turbo timer, and an interface for extra injectors(which would be included). The turbo has less than 10,000 miles on it and I ran synthetic oil and changed it in less than 3000 miles every time, it has no leaks and spools like a champ, the only thing wrong with it is there is some very MINOR scuffage on one of the IC pipes. Also the downpipe and single factory can would probably be included for ease of install... Any offers???

I guess I could sell the motor if i sell anything too, but im not sure i want to get rid of this stuff. The motor has just over 40,000 miles on it and its only been boosted since about 34,000.
 
PAUL, (LIL FREAK) Just got the same kit.

1. Is there a Turbo Timer in the Control Module

2. where did you hook up the tach signal wire to... What Pin/wire... for the EIC.
 
Sorry to hear of the wreck. Have you thought about just geting a new Mazda and puting that kit on it?

1. The turbo timer is in the module
2. Sorry, i can't help you there... The turbo was on the car when i bought it, if you don't figure it out and talk to my cousin to see if he remembers...

And about getting another protege, well its a possibility, i had a bid on a 2003 locally, and i don't know if i got it or not... everything is up in the air yet...
 
Damn dude, sorry to see that. Glad you are fine. Anyone have a link to these TSI turbo kits, and how well did that little injection control unit work?

The Injection Control Unit was never hooked up... On 6lbs of boost i was still running plenty rich without the extra injectors, however if the boost would be increased i'm sure it would be a different story. On the level of boost it was at, the car was fun, it spooled pretty quick, and the drving experience was awesome...

On another note this kit with my setup ran w/ a MSP with hardpipes, Injen CAI, and a FMIC, and he had the boost turned up to what he thought to be 12 lbs.(i figure like 8-10) The only reason the MSP was better was the launch b/c of the lsd otherwise the 2 cars were dead even...

I'll have a little better idea of whats going on after Monday, i have my pre-trial from the accident... Hopefully i'll know what's gonna happen with my licence... if i'm gonna loose it... It all has an effect on project "Super Protege" After i know whats up with all that will determine if this stuff is for sale or not...

Finally someone with the same kit as me... and the car's trashed :( sorry to hear about your loss, and good luck in court.

If possible, can you take a whack of pics of all the pipes and the FMIC? My kit came with poor-ass generic instructions so I just want to make sure I've gotten my assembly correct.

I'll see if i can get some pics tommorrow, it gives me an excuse to uncover the car. Do you have it installed already, if so what did you do for the DP, did you have it split outside the turbo housing or is it merged, mine was merged, but i was going to build a split DP where the exhaust merge somewhere between 12 and 18"s from the turbo housing, alsp are you running your BOV vented or as a BPV, mine was rigged as a BPV and it worked great, but i was reccommended to get a Greddy type S.

I haven't installed the kit yet. I'm going to wait until i beef up the tranny and until all the snow/ice melts. the DP will be split and I'll be using a Turbo XS RFL BOV.

Thanks for the pics.. I see that I got the placement of the TB pipe right :P although I didn't expect the piping to go up the way yours is (through the side of the bumper where CAIs go)
if you can take pics of every pipe from turbo to TB, that'd be perfect.. i'd be able to figure out how my pipes should go, and then figure out how to make replacement pipes with the right bends and angles.

Sorry i didn't get any pics yet but maybe i can help you verbally... On the outlet side of the IC the pipe goes down throught the hole used for CAI's and goes down through where the plastics under the bumper are and then goes to the intercooler... the inlet side should be pretty easy, just out of the turbo downward and angles toward the IC... I hope that helps but i will try to get pics because its hard to describe how it goes, not to mention a picture is worth a 1000 words...
 
I just followed the turbo link in your sig and saw the pics of you intercooler and i see yours is different than mine, yours looks taller and narrower??? Also how is your DP going to made split, and who is making it?
