Any thoughts on the TurboHoses hardpipe kit?

I'm looking into getting a hardpipe kit for my 03 MSP... I've seen two so far, one from TurboHoses.com ($700 w/ GReddy or HKS BOV welded on) and one from Byohndspeed.com ($275 w/o BOV). I've heard not-so-great things about the Byohndspeed kit... like how there's vibration and stuff. So I'm leaning towards the TurboHoses kit right now.

Has anyone installed the TurboHoses kit yet? Any thoughts? Good/bad? Any stalling after using the BOV?

i think $700 is way too expensive for just hardpipes, you can get the hiboost fmic kit for $900 i think. hardpipes won't help that much, our stock ic sucks. if you only want hard pipes though, i think dsmconvert is coming out with some if you want to hold on for a little bit

yep yep yep they're coming...just waiting on bov flanges and what not...hks flanges are for some reason hard to get wholesale...final price is 200 bucks....Id estimate about week and a half for the first 10 to be done...then another week for the whole batch to be ready...hehe i def. think a 2 week wait is worth saving 500 bucks, but then again I guess i'm partial!

TURBOHOSES no if and or buts.

if the price is to much then go to the site order the pipes without the BOV. then buy a different BOV. if you have your stock BPV then it won't stall or have a turkey no matter what BOV you use.

I may have a biast opinion because the pipes were made on my car.but that also means I have had mine longer then anyone else,so I know they do there job,and work properly.

********** also sells them.

you can't compete with these.
aircraft T-6 alluminum
geuine turbohoses silicone(in what color you choose)
stainless steel clamps
and the time and dedication of turbohoses world renound R&D department.

I'll sell you my turbohoses HP's for $300 + shipping if you want them.

Hey Rawyzf... So $300? I assume this is without a BOV? Why you selling it?

I think I might wanna wait and see what this dsmconvert hardpipe kit is like before making a decision.

Thanks for the offer, though!

Hey dsmconvert, I already PM'd you with this, but I'm really curious... I like the TurboHoses kit a lot right now, but I definintely wouldn't mind getting something more affordable, as long as it'll compare to the turbohoses kit.

First, does the $200 hardpipe kit come with a BOV? If not, how much extra will that be?

Second, will the kit work with an injen CAI?

Third, does your kit make use of the stock BPV, in addition to an aftermarket BOV?

And last, do you have any pictures of your kit available that I can see?

Thanks a lot!

what about the problems ppl have mentioned about the t.b. pipe smacking the master cylinder?? Oh, and someone posted about the beyhondspeed pipes adding extra vibration. Now is it that we still dont have an option for trouble free pipes? Or is it that we just have a couple "not so mechanicly inclined" ppl on the board? ;) Would kinda like ot know before I order my set in a week or 2.

My Spool pipes banged against the master cylinder. I just shoved a piece of foam between the pipe and the cylinder. Bam. Problem solved.

Correct..this is without a BOV. I want to sell these ones so I can get a set with a BOV flange welded on already.

ours will have several options...either stock bpv tubes or aftermarket flange welded on(but will not have the bov with them). So you can keep your stock bpv if you so desire or can have them made for any BOV on the market....pics will be up as soon as the batch is done...

(cool) keep us updated on those first turbohoses to come out.....i am very interested and would love to take one off you hands. I wanna get the HKS BOV and i will wait to save $500.....just keep updatin and if u could just send me a message when the first 10 come out....i want to put the stock BPV and the BOV so i can get the loud turkey then the whooooosh sound...if possibl with ur turbohoses.......Colombianmvp7@hotmail.com or Aim -Colombianmvp7 (thumb) (msporange

as for the hardpipes creating interior noises and more vibration, i beleive that this is an isolated issue. i think the pipes need to be readjusted in the connectors. out of the 17 sets sold that is the only case that has had this problem. and the gb on my pipes starts monday...

byhond speed-
I don't mean to diss your pipes to much but the are like konig to volks when compared to the turbohoses pipes.

and the issue with the turbohoses pipes hitting the master cylinder. all you need to do to fix it is adjust them.I ran them for a month and a half or so before they were for sale, and just recently took them off(for a FMIC)and they only hit for the first few days.then I just realigned them.no more smack, smack.

i never made them to be the best pipes. only to have pipes that work well for a good price. i could have just copied there design like other people and sell them, but i went to the dealer and asked them about making pipes and they said as long as they follow the same path and same diameter that they would not void warranty. as of right now 2 local guys that have them on there car have been to the dealer for service work with the pipes on and the dealer never said anything.
