2003 Mazda6s
I have had my Mazda6 for over a year now. So far I have modded mainly my engine with A Magnaflow Exhaust, CP-E MAFci CAI, and MSDS Headers. I have a Racing Beat rear sway bar on its way right now from therpmstore.com!

I have seen maybe three or four exterior modded Mazda6's in Louisville, but that is about it. Any of you all out there have some modded Mazda6's? Even if you have a speed6 (which I know there are a few of you guys modded in the 'Ville) post up. Maybe we can get a Mazda6 meet together.

I guess most folks look at a M6 as a faimily car, not a car to mod. I have a friend who has one and likes it. He was going to buy a M3 and got a better deal on the M6. There are some M6s in this group, though. They do mod their cars, somewhat. Good luck with your search! (2thumbs)

The funny thing is the fact that tuning is almost available for our cars and there are a bunch of guys on 6crew.com that are going FI very soon. One guy already has al of the custom work for a TT.

Yea they look like family cars...sort of? IDK why though. They are one of the few four dorrs that actually look sporty, and pull it off good. Once tuning is available, hopefully mor people willsee the potential for V6 motors we have and will take advantage of it.

They're more sporty than some. The new ones do a better job of that than those in the past. It's like Mazda did a facelift on all of their cars in the front end. Maybe to give them the RX-8 look? It was the styling of the RX-8 that caught my wife's eye, and why she has one to drive. It's the first four door car my wife and I have ever owned in our over forty years of being together. We've had two-door sporty/sports cars for all those years, even when we had two children at home. I still have trouble getting used to the extra doors. With the rear doors semi-hidden, I can get over the shock a little better. :)

I guess you can tell we're biased from sedans, minivans, SUVs. I'm not belittling any of them. All are great for those who like them. It's just that we grew up before the minivan and SUV craze. My daughter is a soccer mom who loves SUVs and has a Suburban to drive, now. I figure when I get old enough to not be able to get in and out of sporty cars easily, I'll have a big Lincoln Town Car, or something similar.

Seriously, though, we do like the M3s . The hatchback is a real cutie. My wife spotted one the other day and said she likes them. I'd thought about buying one for her as a daily driver, one day. She has to get some more years on that RX-8, though. Maybe I'll buy one for her when she retires. It would be a blast to drive, I think. It's not much bigger than my Miata and would get much better gas mileage. I do miss the gas mileage from the '06 Miata we had. My latest one only gets about 20-22 on the road. It does have 440whp, though.

I believe any Mazda has some zoom-zoom in it. It may need a little coaxing to get it out, though. It's because they have zoom-zoom that I'm still buying them, today.

The NEW 6 is no longer sporty. The last model was young and sporty. I meet plenty of people who have modded their 6. New 6 might as well go and buy a camry or accord. I am disappointed with mazda. Sorry, I just changed the topic ;)

The new Mazda6's look like crap. IMO the sports bumper on the 03-05 look the best. I have always been tempted to do a speed6 front conversion but it is too much damn money. I will be converting to a speed6 rear bumper soon.

Ps - RX-8 rims are almost on their way!!!

Since Mazda is competing against the Camry, etc, that could be some of the reasoning behind their changes. I don't think Mazda has those who must modify any car they own in mind. I'm sure their target is the average folks who just want a decent looking car at a reasonable price. Just a thought.

I'm in the vicinity of the Ville and I work in the Ville.

Bought my 6 new in 2004 and have put over 148k miles on it so far. I drive alot!!

It's stock except for a K&N High Flow Air Intake & custom-made aluminum pedals from Ultimate Pedals.com. More minor mods to come.

There are 3 OAC Mazda Club meets planned for August, September & October. You can check 'em out @ http://oacmazdaclub.com/page/calendar.html
