i actually have two houses. One I rent to my Mother-in-law, which we lived in before then moved to the bigger house.

1st house - three beds, 1 bath, 1 car garage, about 1000 square feet. the land plot is about 110 x 70 feet. we got it for 60K at 6% interest. this house is in Grandview, MO

new house - 4 bed, 2 1/2 bath, 2 car garage, about 2200 square feet. 2 story (actually three story if you count the full size basement) deck, shed, the land plot is a little smaller then the first house, but it came with a 6feet privacy fence. This house was 150k at 6% interest. thank god for VA loans. no down payment. this house is in Belton, MO about 10 minutes for the 1st house.

i can post pics of the houses later. they are all on my computer at home. not sure thats in the info you are looking for.

VA Loans OWN! :)

What part of the country do you live in? The 'amount of house per dollar' quotent in Western Washington state sucks ASS. It's VERY hard to get a good CRACK house for less than $150K up here. :(

3 bed/2 bath....2 car garage. Built in 2001. I'm on the outskirts of the Phoenix Metro area in Chandler, AZ. Bought the house for $129,000.

Only have pics of the garage. where I spend most of my time ;)

Whew...

My house is actually for sale, so I might actually be able to remember some stuff about it.

$94,000 is what I've had it listed at for the past 2 weeks.

1350 sq. ft., built in 1992, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage with storage room, large privacy fenced back yard, security system, wood burning fireplace, 2 year old carpet and paint, raised ceilings in master and living room, ceiling fans in every room, walk in closets, completely floored in attic.

I just have a regular FHA loan, 7% that I definitely would have refinanced a few months ago, if I wasn't getting ready to sell it. For some reason, that I can't remember now, I decided to go with FHA opposed to a VA loan. I shouldn't have, because the $3,000 I had to put down, would be nice to have right now damn it... lol

(And before anyone notices, I know the flag was displayed wrong, my g/f hung it before she took the picture. I fixed it immediately... At least she was trying to be patriotic.)

Trade you for Los Angeles prices. We bought our place two years ago for $221,000, financed $214,000 at 6.35% APR. With PMI, taxes and all we pay $1750 per month. This is for a 2 bed/1 bath w/1071 sq. ft. and 5244 sg. ft. lot built in 1948. Thankfully the last owner had it for 27 years and had added A/C, new roof and done a copper re-pipe. So all we had to do was update it out of the 80s and I remodeled the bathroom in to a master bath.

We'll be selling it in the next few months for around $325,000 take the profit and by a new place that is larger. Now that we have two kids it's just not a practical size house any more.

I live in Missouri. the picture you posted is alot like my old house. and would go for about 50-66k out here. to give you an idea about the costs. I checked the price of my new house (the 150k one) in Orange County, California (where i grew up) and it would go for about 350K in OC.

Yup - Our outrageous home prices have NOTHING on Orange County... :-/ Sucks.

In Bellevue, WA, the news reported of a 'Gov't Subsidized' housing complex; single family homes, all about 6 feet apart from eachother. They were being offered at a HUGE discount of about 275K - to qualify for the 'Low income' housing, each family could make no MORE than about $94,000 a year.

Ninety Four Thousand Dollars a year. Holy Balls what I would do with that kinda money.

wow.

Of course, in Bellevue Washington, 94K a year IS poverty level.

There is something wrong with that. I'm an hour from bellevue - $94K a year would make me live like a King. A prince at least.

:D

i built my home in 1991 for 225K, just got it appraised last month for 425K

4 bed, 2-1/2 baths, 2 car garage, 35K sq. ft land and an attached "mother in law apt. 1bed, 1bath living room/kitchen. home prices in the north east are crazy!

Beem in my new house a month as of today..

escrow on a house in san jose. :'( man the prices up
here bring teh suck.

old home -> $240 / sq ft
new home -> $340 / sq ft

only good thing is my morgage rate is
2.45% 1st year
3.45% 2nd year
4.45% 3rd year
5.45% for rest of the 30 year term

at least the company gives me something for making me move.

You are all lucky compared to NYC...

My house is 2500 sq. ft. on three levels on a 100 ft x 26 ft lot... if you tried to guess the price you are most likely wrong...

...$375K

Here's the place we are looking to get -

$185K

3BR
2.5Baths
Fireplace
1/2 acre lot
built in 1998

FIVE miles from my work - right now I commute FIFTY miles each way. I chopped off the right side- it extends for a bit outside the frame of the pic. The lot is level, my Camera, however, was not. :D

:-/

We're praying God does some Mojo so we can get this house! :D

i'll be a home owner next year, buying my parents old house off of them. 4 bed +bonus room, 2.5 bath, 3 car garage (sweet) that's the only way i can buy a house in southern california. damn prices are too high down here. you can't even get a condo for under $250k, let alone a decent sized house for $300k.
