Any confirmations of power gains from a catback exhuast? MS3

Just wondering... I haven't been able to find any dyno's before and after, of someone's MS3 with a catback exhuast.

I seem to be hearing more along the lines of the MS3's stock catback is not that restrictive, and an upgrade like the MS catback will really not gain much if any. I know Mazda claims 30 hp from the CAI and catback but seems people see most of that JUST from the CAI.

I know a turbo back should be worth a noticeable gain... but just wondreing if I should even bother with the MS catback?

heh awesome....i just moved from an srt-4 also into the ms3. From what i can gather (and by looking under the car) we have a factory 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust. Seems pretty smooth flowing and not too many bends in it. I think most gains on the exhaust side are gonna be a better downpipe + high flow cat....and getting rid of the 2nd cat. Maybe get rid of some of the resonators on the stock exhaust just to make it sound mean.

yeah it already looked like a really good stock system when I was under the car as well... and I just found it hard to believe a catback was going to make very much difference. I agree the bottlenecks are probably everything BEFORE the cat.
