2016 CX-5 Touring. Tech Package
I got one for ya'll.
I have a 2016 Touring with 1600mi.
Two weeks a go I was backing out of my driveway (no slope). I do the same thing always,
1. Start the Sonic (car name)
2. put Sonic in reverse while pressing brake
3. depress E-Brake.
4. drive to work.
Just as I was backing out, I heard a deep vibration noise from the front like the E-brake was still on (and it engages in the rear wheels). But the car was moving effortlessly.
didn't happen again....till today.
I was pulling forward out of the parking spot. Got 100 yrds in our club p-lot, then bam!!! Insane loud deep vibration. This time the cars front end dropped like I had slammed the brakes. Odd thing was I didn't come to an abrupt stop. Just felt like the ABS was kicked in. Like my front tires loss total traction. I was only going less than 8 mph. (i know because my doors hadn't auto locked yet.).
I called the dealer, they said never heard of such a thing. Then suggested a line pressure issue? It had only happened when the car sits for a long peroid of time, like overnight or a 13hr day at work.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Sounds like the SCBS system kicking in. Did you look at your dash and see any warning messages or indicators?

Sounds like the SCBS to me. It could be detecting something that it thinks is an obstacle and activating. Keep an eye out for the SCBS activation warning message in the gauge cluster.

Are there any potential objects in front it could be detecting, but you may not think is a danger?

Hard to tell from your description but if you have been parking it after driving through rain showers maybe your brake pads are rusting to your discs.

I took it in yesterday. The deal said if the car sits for a period of 12hrs or longer, sometimes it does a system check or reset.
So no rust (thank God, it's a 2016 with 2k miles on it)
And There was no light that came on. Odd

That makes no sense, what system check?
I don't drive my 2015 CX-5 on the weekends at all, come Monday morning, I get in, put it in reverse to back out of garage, then forward to leave and nothing weird happens.
