Another P5 offset question.

On a stock suspension, no lowering planned, what's the lowest offset I can get away with for 16" wheels on a P5? I keep finding wheels I like that are +38 and +40. Will those cause problems?

PS-I did search for answers for a good half hour with no luck.

this is just my opinion -- no fact to this -- just my 2cents ---

but if you NEVER plan on lowering the car -- you might be ok with a +40 or +42 untill you hit a really big bump or have a car full of peeps ---

post a couple of pics that you like -- you might get lucky and someone on here may have seen something similar that will fit the right way :)

I'd stick with +48 (or more) for a 7.5" wheel, and +42 (or more) for a 7" wheel

you'd need ~ a +55 offset, but it would be SUPER tight... it would seriously come down to tire size and brand

honestly, I wouldn't even try

Thanks for the replies. I'm having a hell of a time finding a style I like that fits and that isn't too expensive. I really like the Volk LE37T style(or a similar style in 5 spokes) 16x7, but those cost a bit more than I want to spend right now.

if you like the Volk LE37 then check out Motegi FF6.... cheap option, similar style

there is alos a Rota wheel that is similar, but I can't remember its name.

wait i have a low ass car with 17s and ive got a 45 offset with ZERO rubbing and 215/40 tires, so im sure he can go much lower on a 16in rim and not lowering.

Thanks for that suggestion. I just looked at the FF6, and that is just what I'm looking for. And it's only 16 lbs in the 16x7 size. And my local tire store, Belle Tire, carries Motegi and gives me a 10% AAA discount.

sorry to thread jack but this is almost the same question... what offset would be needed for a 16X7 wheel on a Sedan with Illuminas and Eibachs? The gram lights I'm looking at have a +42 or a +46 offset?

im sure youll be fine for +42 for several reasons:

1) its a 16in rim
2) you have a sedan, which can take lower offsets

Without a doubt.....the +42's will work with the sedan

lol... since you have a sedan, the absolute lowest offset I would get is a +45 ( as I have) on a 7.5" wheel ( I am so close you can barely see between the tire and fender) and a +39 for a 7" wheel.

but that only goes for a sedan. personally I would go the sfe route if I were you and get a +48 for a 7.5" wheel, or a +42 for a 7"
