okay .. so my idea to re-route the AC to the intake for that extra boost of cold air didn't pan out ....

how about this

Has Someone here tried to make a "Shell" out of their Stock Intake components to hide a CAI or other type of modification with the ultimate goal hiding something that can potentially void your warranty ?

comments? suggestions? concerns ?

btw ... yes, these crackheaded ideas come naturally without the help of " artificial preservatives "

im sure the shell might fool someone glancing at your engine bay, but a smog check guy would have to be pretty dense to not see it

hmmmm..." Stock Air Box " ......*making adjustments to blueprint*

okay ... so here's what I'm thinking so far

1) cut the Pipes along their length, and use them as sleeves to cover the polished injen piping ( making sure to position the cuts so that they won't be visible

2) Hollow out the Bottom of the stock air box so it sits comfortably on top of the pipes

3) Re-attach the stock Duct-work to cover the coolant reservoir ... but then again, they'd definitely wonder where the hell the reservoir is.. so maybe put that back somewhat close to where it belongs....

hmmm.. I'm gonna have to actually look and see if this can be done tomorrow morning... lol.. might be a fun project

anyone have any suggestions ?

I still like the AC idea

yeah, so do I, lol.. sounds "cool" doesn't it ? ( no pun intended )

but yeah, apparently, the power you get from blowing the cold air in will be a lot less than the power required to run the AC in the first place...

now ... what if ya had an independent refrigeration system in there that runs completely independent of the car ..... hmmmmmm lol

( Kind'a reminds me of how my buddies used to stick blocks of dry ice near their intakes .... seemed funny to me before... but now.... hmmmmm... )

Lol... alright, I'm gonna have to give the "Nutty Idea" award to you. Altough, your intentions are right up there on the 'sane' side of the brain, you just use it often enough. j/k
