And in the red corner...

Hey guys! I've been lurking around here for a bit, but i figured it was time I properly introduce myself. I just traded in my 2006 civic SI for a 2008 True Red Speed3 sport! I love this car, it is a big improvement over the civic in almost all areas. I love it so much, i dont even want to fart in it! haha! (butthump) Anyway, I've already orders a few little items for appearance and some HIDs, but I probably wont start modding for power until i lose my first race. This car is pretty powerful as-is. It actually feels like it might be faster than my old SR-powered 240sx (240 rwhp). Anyway, it's good to be here, and here is my ride, and a sample of what i came from:

My last car:

and my first affair with boost:

Welcome aboard.. and yes I do think the MS3 is faster than the 240sx - congrats on the new ride...

^ wouldn't have it any other way!!(thumb)

Oh, and the MS3 is definitely faster than a stock SR, but mine was not exactly stock, thats why it is too close to call. With a couple parts it will no longer be a question.

On a side note, i just installed rear scuff plate for the bumper, painted my chrome emblems black, and ordered a set of HIDs. Intake soon?!?

you're off to a good start man. definately get an intake. i'd get a set of shifter bushings from TWM also.

red is lame though. they didn't have silver in stock? :)

I'm sorry you sold your Si. You are a slut. A fantastic car that is built to run. And all the mods are starting to drop . You probably do not even know the 20's potential. How would I like to rev to 8750? And throw boost in there with a six speed. Sure my daughter gets pissed when I beat her but This year she is set up to make me cry. Oh yes you really should have both cars still.

no, i do know the k20's potential, but i dont want to rev that high when i feel like going fast. There isnt even much good tuning available for that car yet, and to even get to the power of a stock speed 3, i would have to drop serious coin. If we were talking a track-only car, i would have kept the civic, but the Mazda is a much better daily. I thought it out pretty thoroughly, and the Si just wasn't for me. i dont miss it a bit. i miss the 240 a little though(sad2)

Why don't you just trade in your MS3 for one?

I'm sure you could get a decent deal on a slightly used one.

The Civic si has nothing on the MS3. I've owned both; the SI is weak as shyt in comparision. Sure you can add a turbo and void your warranty and it would be as fast as a MS3 but don't count on it lasting long.

I know the feeling had a 240 myself and i miss it too.
Thinking of getting another one for a project car and keeping my ms3 stock for now.

And yes the ms3 is a better daily driver with much more power and space
but mpg hurt a little but worth it.

I currently own a 240 and love that thing. The main reason for giving it up is it's age and reliability and professionalism I guess. I'm graduating and don't want to be driving to work in a two decade old car having to tote customers/coworkers around in it, squishing them in the back lol. It's going to be hard to get rid of it, but at least I will be getting rid of it for the mazdaspeed3. It's such a great car and an awesome platform for a project car. They have so much potential.

Did you hear about Chrome for tuning. Yes Hondata is pricey. The stuff is just starting to leak out. But i hear you. I would not trade my speed for any thing right now. Welcome!
