recently got dyno tested for a before and after thing so this is teh before.
98 MX5 1600cc 30kmls
stock (except for 10mm comp spec leads)
95.4 hp @ 5973rpm
508.5lbft @ 4888rpm (related to final drive stuff)
but the problem is that around 2500rpm the vacuum pressure starts to sink and goes right down to -41.4inhg @ 6908rpm. they say the only way to solve this is to keep checking it at different points while its on th road. can i do anything in the mean time ?

anyone ??

I think something is wrong with their machine. no way could you pull that much vacume from an internal combustion engine. I would bet that if you really pulled that much, the universe would implode..

hey dont ask me, but if your right i better not run it agin just incase...
so should i question them on this they are a certified test centre for irl rally.
think i will call the other road i know and get them to have a look at the figures.
i will check back in the morning.

later

508.5 ft lbs?

95hp sounds just about right for the B6 engine.

I have the same MX-5 with a 1.6cc B6, and it has 81kw, that should be 110hp.

OMG universe imploding! shouldnt run it again cuz like i enjoy our universe (sun)
(sorry couldnt help myself lol)

Is that dynoed or just specification? I know US B6 Miatas('90-'93) had several different power ratings, some were like 110 and some were 118 depending on year and transmission. I don't remember exact info on the matter. The B6 itself has gone from 82hp in the 323 to 118hp in the Miata, so it gets confusing.

ok, lets break it down (followed by bobby brown in my head)
the 98- european or us 99- 1.6 is ment to have 110hp at the fly wheel but when it gets to the trye on a regular road tha figure is down to 89hp. this is what mazda call a rough figure.
my fly wheel results were 108.5hp and 102.4ftlb.

this is not enough and i have been waiting to save up for a turbo kit until a spoke to a customer who happens to have a complete 1.8turbo with all elec sitting in a corner from his MX3 that was 4x4. i do need to refurbish the turbo but think all would be ok with an up rated clucth. the thing you want to know is what the hp.. its 230hp last time teste but with a wedding, honeymoon etc comming up how can i convince her that as a daily runner for her its worth it ??? now you can all see my problem and i feel better for sharing.

sounds like your figures are on the money.

As far as convincing the fiance, you're on your own. I'm single and only had to convince myself to get the turbo for my 91. :p I would suggest distracting her with shiny jewelry.
