Hey all.
I am a few months away from getting my speed3 because I am still in school. However, I just checked the web and they are offering 0% financing (for 5 years!) where I am, so my 'rents offered to co-sign for me because I have no income right now. But I have some Canadian-specific (mostly climate and pricing) questions.
So what I want to know is the following:
What did you pay (and how did you get such a steal of a deal if you did so)?
New/used, color, and year?
Did anybody install aftermarket starter/alarm combo (brand name, +ve or -ve experience, etc.)?
How are you finding it in the winter (creaks, bumps, windshield cowl, suspension issues, handling, etc.)?
What is your average gas mileage in the winter (summer if available) in Km/L?
What did the sales man try to/convince you to buy after you had said you'd get it, for an extra price (block heater *duh*, undercoating, extended warranty, any other fancy doo-dad's) and which ones did you go for?
What is, in your opinion, the best route to go about haggling the price down?
I know, I know - there isn't much haggle room with this one. But the aces I have (or at least I think they're aces - this is my first time buying from a dealer) up my sleeve are the fact that I will qualify for the new grad rebate (only $500, but still, it's $500), and I'm putting a pretty big chunk down which probably won't mean much at 0%.
Any other tips and advice would be appreciated!
