Alternate tire sizes?

I'm leaning towards KDW2's or F1 GS D3s... another input is appreciated about that.

235/40/17 is what I was leaning towards, but at almost an inch wider, I'm not sure it's going to be a stable fit on stock rims...

youll rub. remember that the second number is a PERCENTAGE of the width, so youll be a HELLA lot taller as well. a 235/40 is MUCH wider AND taller than a 215/40.

Figured it wouldn't work. The Falken Azenis RT-615 look pretty nice. I wonder if I'll be able to get them at cost. hmmm

Actually 235/40-17 is .2" shorter in diameter than our stock 215/45-17. The stock wheels and tires are 24.6" overall diameter. If you had 235/40-17 on your overall diameter would be 24.4". But you will not be able to do that. 235/40-17 does not fit our stock wheels. You need wheels that are at least 8" wide for 235/40-17. To get a wider tire I suggest 225/45-17. Most of these run slightly taller than stock tires and wheels. Kumho Ecsta 712 (which are good for price) are 24.9" overall diameter on our wheels. All other 225/45-17 seem to be 25" in overall diameter. You should have no problems with rubbing.

The F1 GS D3's are ******* AWESOME! I loved mine for 10months and 23,000 miles :) Then they were shot...

Got a nice deal on KDW2s. Those things bite into the road very nicely. Compared to our RE040s they bite the road harder on straight line and seem to stop much better, but for cornering, the Bridgestones feel more stable and predictable.

I am going with the Pirelli P Zero Nero 215/35/ZR17 83W as my next purchase. They will fit our stock 17 x 7" RH rims. Also there is another post where a guy is looking at 225/45/ZR17 I looked and they will fit a 7" rim.
