Also want to turbo a P5

I would also like to turbo my p5 but i want somthing a little bulkier than just the msp turbo wanna run probalby on the 6-10 pounds of boost, that should be just enough to get me into the 200 hp range right?

My questions are:
should I replace the pistons and the rods to lower the compression and make it a little stronger with this much boost? If yes some good suggestions on where to find these parts woudl be appreciated.

Do i need to look for a kit with an intercooler for this much boost? Also a few suggestions on these kits would be greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind i'm not going for massive HP here just a little over 200 would be ideal. thx in advanced for all your help.

Ok so i've done some looking around on the forums and websites and such and i'm liking the stripper kit. few questions thought:
do i need to change the pistons or rods?
do i need to do any computer work on the car?
what can i expect as far as power goes from this kit?
i dont see a bov on the kit except for the extra $80 at the end for the upgrade, i'm assuming the kit comes with one though right?

You say that you're not looking for massive gains, "just over 200 would be ideal", but you realize that's basically doubling the power to the wheels right? I would consider those pretty big gains. Not as big as some are going for, and achieving,...but 200 hp would be pushing the limits of the OEM internals for sure.

Your range from 6 - 10 psi is a pretty huge range. You will not likely achieve your desired HP at 6 psi, but around 9 psi you should be able to.

If you're going for 200 hp, I would not recommend the stripper kit. Anything over 6psi and you should go with an intercooled kit (ie: the sleeper kit). And if you're pushing up to 9 or 10 psi it would be adviseable to upgrade the rods at the very least. Probably not required, but would definitely be a good idea if you have the cash for it.

Computer work? You will need some sort of engine management. You could go simple with a voltage clamp and FMU, or you could go with something more advanced like Greddy eManage or something similar. You will also need some sort of boost controller (either manual or electronic).

Take your time, do your research. and do things properly. Don't cut corners and cheap out, otherwise you'll regret it later.

I like to play it safe and tell people to keep the power below 210-220whp on stock rods/pistons and a good tune. Detenation will kill a motor quick.
Since our cars run in closed loop you will need engine management. There are several things out there that you can use. Do some research to see what options you have and what will best suit your needs. The stripper kit lays down roughy 170whp at 5-6 psi. The Sleeper puts down 181whp at 5psi. As you can see a good intercooler goes along way. The kit comes with a Boost Science BPV and can be upgraded to a Raptor for $80 more.

ok, well i dont have the funds to buy the sleeper kit right now expecially since i would want to change the rods out if i put one in. I can live with 170 hp but Mental addiction, If i bought the stripper kit it says i can buy the intercooler later correct? if so can you give me an estimated price range for that? i cant find it anywhere on your site.

Yes, you can get the FMIC kit for it. It's $995
