00 Protege ES
Ok guys i have a 00' protege. now in my model i have 4 speakers (front door 6x8, rear deck 6x9) but in my rear doors i have the speaker grate and behind that the mounting capabilites for a 5 1/4 - 6 1/2 round.

So now, my car has the Alpine CDA-9851 head unit, pioneer 2-way 6x8 in front door and Alpine Type-S 6x9 in rear deck.

My plan is to put Alpine Type-S 5 1/4 in the Front doors, and Alpine 6 1/2 in the rear doors and keep my 6x9's. I also plan to add subs

My radio has 3 preouts

I cant seem to figure out howto wire this or make this happen.

Ok so from what i gather, 1 preout is for my front doors, the second preout if for my rear deck, and the 3rd preout is an extra. Which makes perfect sense.

How do i wire 6-speakers and 2 subs with 3 preouts? is it possible?

Ok letme tell you how i would do it.
1. Wire 1 preout to my 4-channel amp, and wire my front door speakers and rear deck speakers to the amp
2. Wire 1 preout to my rear door speakers
3. Wire 1 preout to my subwoofer amplifier

Does that work? or am i totally so far off key that i should be smacked with a dead salmon?

now here is more questions....

How do i wire the rear door speakers to the 1 preout? Splice? EXPLAIN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WITH THIS CAUSE IM CLUELESS

Has anyone else installed Alpine type-s 6x9's in a protege? If so any problems, cause installation was easy enough with SIBALLA's help, but the tweeters hit the speaker grate on top, wonderin if anyone had solutions.

Also is there any problems mounting other alpine type-s in the doors?

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated by me and SIBalla, its just confusing to guys who never really dealt with audio issues.

1 last question - im in the market for subs, what do you guys like and what amps do you guys like? Im lookin at (2)Sony xplod 1300w 12'' or Alpine type-r, no idea. Hit that up to if you can! THANKS

you could do it many ways

are the 3 preouts..front, rear and sub?

Option 1
Preout 1...4 channel amp running the front doors and rear doors
Preout 2...2 channel amp running the deck 6x9's
Preout 3...Mono amp running the sub

Option 2
Preout 1...4 channel amp running front doors and rear 6x9's
Preout 2...Mono amp running the subs
Rear speakers run off deck

Just because there's a hole in your door doesn't mean you have to fill it. Rear speakers in a car sound bad enough...I can't imagine having two sets of them.

Here's my suggestion:
Buy a set of nice components for the front and a subwoofer or two for the trunk.
Then power them with external amplifiers...
a) Buy a 4-channel amp and power the fronts with the front channels and the subwoofer with the rear channels bridged. Use the Front and Rear outputs to the head unit
b) Buy a 2-channel amp to power the fronts and buy a monoblock (or additional 2-channel) amp to power the subwoofer(s). Again, use the front and rear outputs to the head unit.

With both of these scenarios you can still power your existing rear speakers off the head unit for a little 'rear-fill' but the bulk of your music will be coming from the externally powered front components and the subwoofer.
