Almost got into fight with cop.

So I am leaving my development today and at the main entrance there is a traffic light. When I get to it it turns green and I go to make the right but get cut off by the person that is coming head on(store in front of development) turns to his left and cuts me off. I'm like, "that stupid ******". I tail him a little but still have like 3/4 of a car length between us and he hits the brakes and starts yelling through the rear-view mirror. I then proceed to mouth the words, "what the **** are you thinking asshole", and he starts to rumage through his car.

When i pull up next to him at the very next light he starts cursing at me and pulls out his police badge. I pull up my hand and make the "oh no i'm scared look"(sarcastically of course) and say "is that supposed to intimidate me or something." Then he starts threatening me saying "I should pull your ass out the car and beat the s*** out of you", or something to that effect. I then say, "go ahead, I will sue your ass so fast you wont know what hit you. I've been wanting to add a turbo to my car and it will be nice to do it with your money."
Then i say, "you are the cop and you should know the rules of the driving better than anyone because I had the right of way and you cut me off" This is all while he is ranting and raving and meanwhile the light has turned green.

He kept on saying how he was gonna get out and remove me from my car and beat me up. Then he drove off and turned left while I was on my way to my last class of the day. It would have been a good fight. he was bigger than me from the looks of the way he looked in his Nubira, but even if I did loose to him I still would have sued his ass and gotten a new turbo kit out of it all.

He did so much ranting and raving and never took off his seatbelt even when he saw me taking mine off, and never did anything bult flail around his badge and yell.

prolly a security gaurd.. should've asked for his badge number and if he didnt respond taken down the inof i.e. car, plate etc and get him busted for impersonation of a police offcer... that'd been jsut as much fun as getting your ass kicked by him but no money advantage...

yeah, i wish he would have done something, I would have been like, "new turbo here I come". Most he would have gotten was a hit or two on me. I can defend myself pretty well and I know how to hold my own. It wouldn't have been my first time in a fight.

I gotta agree, it wasn't a police officer. But NY DOES have some pretty bad road rage.

If he was rummaging around his car for his badge.... then I'm pretty sure it was a fake badge he got online or at the five and dime, if not, then possibly a security guard. Most officers keep their badge nearby, usually on their belt or on a chain around their neck. And most of them do not go around brandishing one like the Lone Ranger. One last hint,.. had he BEEN an actual officer, you would've had a few of them surrounding your car with blue lights in a matter of minutes if he was that pissed or paranoid with you. So it's fairly safe to say that you got yelled at by a mentally unstable, outraged and moody typical NY driver. lol

And I might let someone get in a lick or two if I knew I'd get a disco potato outta it at least. Yes, we are THAT sick in here. lol

You wouldn't be able to sue the department he works for, as he was offf duty and "not on the clock", how ever you could take him to civil court and sue him that way.

Yeah, I should have provoked him more but I was just thinking if he was a real cop or not and that took my train of thought away. He had a NYPD shirt on so i think he was a cop but then again maybe not. If I run into him again next time I will be sure to provoke him some more all while staying in my car. then I will have a new turbo, internals, paint job, etc. Ohh well, there's always next time.
