All Who Installed KB Short Shifter & Bushings

Hey All....This question is for anyone who installed the Kart Boy SS & Bushings...

When YOu put on the new shifter did you grease the ball???

The reason i ask is lately i feel as if the shifter is getting much tighter...and i am getting a slight vibrations when the car is acccelarating at high rpms!!

Yes, you want to grease the pivot-ball up really good. I have not experienced any vibration at high rpm's. I did hear a howl or whistle. but it has faded after the break-in period.

any Particular Grease?? I can find this at an local auto parts store...or am i better off..at like home depot??

P.S. did you gunk the ball w/ it..or only dab some on??

Go to your local auto part store again. In my case AutoZone. Right around the area of the oils and additive will be all purpose grease. Just pick up the smallest tub you can get. Probably under $5. You don't want to get a lot of grease on the pivot ball. Just a good even film over the entire area.

Yeah, grease it lightly and make sure that you take off all the carp old grease

aye, i greased it up, with just some tub of black auto grease laying around. i havent had the wistle people complain about.

i greased mine too, but as of now, there is a slight squeak while shifting into any gear, i know its coming from that damn pivot, but i dont want to take it apart again, i FINALLY got that stupid momo shift knob to stay in one place! lmao
