Do our factory alarms have a shock sensor on them? It doesn't appear that mine does. Also when I unlock my doors with my keyfob I get a beep from my alarm.....although it is vey soft. Is my alarm supposed to beep when I lock my doors with my keyfob? Sorry for all the questions. I hope someone knows this.

The factory alarm does have a shock sensor. It should be zip-tied to some wiring up and behind the driver's side dash.

It shouldn't beep when you unlock, at least mine doesn't.

Not all keyless entries have an alarm though right? I have keyless entry and want an alarm. Does anyone have the mazda alarm? Does it use the same keyfob as the keyless entry? Is it the $100 item on mazdastuff.com?

I installed a Viper alarm in my car, I put too much money into it in Audio equip. and th eMazda Keyless Remote wasn't gonna cut it! Here is pic of it, it's pretty good, it tells you when someone is breaking into your car by vibrating the remote and beeping, up to a KM away.

Well I dont know about all cars, but mine has shock sensors, i found that out when i was moving. I kinda dropped something heavy in the back of the car and set off my alarm, with all the doors open. Suffice it to say the damn thing nearly gave me a heart attack because i want expecting it.

You're correct that not all keyless entry has the alarm. For the p5, keyless entry was standard, the alarm was optional. I bought the mazda alarm from mazdastuff and installed it myself. It is a basic plug & play install and uses the same keyfob.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles some of the aftermarket systems have, but its gotten the job done just fine for me so far.

Mine has a kill switch and everything....but it just doesn't seem to have the shock sensor. I can shake my car like crazy and nothing happens.

The alarm goes off when a door is opened or via the shock sensor? If you bang hard on the window will it go off? Does it have a starter kill? I guess I should ask the guys at mazdastuff these questions. Thanks for the info!!

If you find the shock sensor, you can turn up the sensitivity on it, but I guess that'd be hard to do if there isn't one in there.

I guess you should keep looking for it or perhaps ask your dealer about it...(uhm)

The alarm does go off when a door is opened.

The shock sensor will pick up if any part of the car is banged on. That's actually one of the install tests. First, you hit the car, and the horn will go off just once, then when you hit it a second time, a touch harder, the alarm will trigger with a series of horn blasts. Then you can adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor as desired.

It does have a starter kill.

Here's another dealer that sells parts online. The alarm is a few bucks cheaper than mazdastuff. I've had good luck dealing with both of them, however.
